Forums - Gaming - Bioware: "It makes sense for us to be multiplatform"

I hate timed exclusives with a passion. It's so false and uncool. Just let ME3 be multiplatform from day 1.

well said. should just be same day. it also sucks even more if another version contains more content because of a later release which is fair in its self but unfair on those who bought the game earlier.

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

Yeah that too! Sales patterns get very distorted due to timed exclusives and that irritates me too.

didn't Mass Effect on the computer do really good though? And that was released a lot later...

According to shio it probably did.

I guess Bioware has a strong legacy among the PC guys though and Mass Effect didn't have that "console aura" since a PC version was announced from the beginning (at least according to PC Gamer).

Still I think PC sales are only a fraction of the X360 version (500-750K versus 2.5 mill or something).

Yeah, I don't like when they add content. I feel like I get ripped off if I buy a game on first day and then a bigger version comes out 6 months later.

Well I can bet if this game sold 5 million on 360 we wouldn't be talking about it coming to PS3. That is why insomniac is going multiplat because they want more than 2 million sold.

after mass effect 3 if they make a kotor 3 i will be excited!.about 3/4 through my first playthrough of kotor and it is great...is kotor 2 worth the purchase?(i know it wasnt developed by bioware but still i wanna know)

i think that way to , people paying to realease first on one system is just stupid.

Agreed.

I think Mass Effect 3 will probably be another timed exclusive.  And since ea is a multiplat company and they own bioware it makes sense for them to release their games on as many systems as possible.  If Bioware had remained independent or if they become independent again in the future they will probably go back to making exclusive games.

but they haven't made an exclusive since NWN and they were independent when they made the multiplat KotoR. Oh and they are developing one exclusive ATM the old republic...

ok well maybe I should have said console exclusive then.  Kotor, Jade Empire, Mass Effect 1 etc were all on a console first and moved to the pc 6 months to 1 year later.  And yeah the old republic is an exclusive but unfortunately it's an mmo.  I really wish it was kotor 3.  And just because it's currently an exclusive doesn't mean it will stay that way.  I'm sure ea is trying to figure out a way to put it on at least one console even if it's at a later date.
