Forums - Sales - Why would Reach cause people to become new owners of 360 systems?

Zlejedi said:

Some people might consider it good moment to buy new slim to replace their old x360 fat.

Was looking to target new people who don't own a 360, not those looking for an update.

Bundle will be the main reason for a spike which will sell to manily existing  owners.

THIS.

hell, I won't be getting it, and I'm a 360 owner, and the first Halo is my favorite game of all time

it's because Halo Reach is a stupid PREQUEL

I've previously tried to start a boycott of Halo Reach, so they would make it a Sequel, not a damned prequel

Prequels are so anti climactic, you already know what's going to happen, it's a let down

and that's why I won't be getting Reach

Reach is going to give a BIG hardware push.

Just wait.  Most of the reasons why it will have already been posted in the thread

It also could lead people who used to have 360's and sold them or had them break buy new consoles.  I've seen people do it before.

Because its a good, fun game which is great to play online both cooperatively and competitively and has the same features for great local play and has a good single player experience. Since it has been about 3 years since a mainline Halo was released there will be a lot of people who will have their first experience or will be re-introduced to the series.

Tease.

1. A lot of people interested in the 360 Slim who know about an upcomming limited edition Reach-Slim bundle will buy the console and the game.

2. ODST is not a proper Halo game, the 360 only has had 1 main Halo game, and that was 3 years ago when the console was $400 and a lot newer. Now that the console has aged a bit, many people who have still to buy a console, will consider a 360 when Reach comes out.

3. Every big blockbuster game attracts new console owners. It doesn't matter if there was a Halo prior.

4. The franchise is growing in popularity, some people were just not aware of Halo before, and now that more and more people talk about it, a lot of newcomers will join the action.

5. Monkey see, Monkey want. People who walk into a store and play Halo off a display console may just buy a 360 because the game is so much fun and they didn't realize how fun Halo can be.

6. Halo makes the fall lineup look significantly better, so for new console buyers who are comparing new PS3 and 360 game, Halo will push them towards 360.

Probably a lot more reasons too, Halo: Reach should push a lot of consoles. Can't wait for the data in 2 weeks.

Why do people purchase Xbox 360 consoles every week?

Those looking to still buy a 360 may be motivated to do so by Halo Reach.

I was looking at 360 because of Kinect. However, after doing a lot of research, I can't resist the Halo Reach's hype, so I got the 360 last week and pre-ordered Reach. I will still get Kinect later though
