Forums - Sales - Why would Reach cause people to become new owners of 360 systems?

If the three Halo products so far on the 360 haven't driven people to buy a 360 yet, why would someone buy a 360 now to play Halo Reach?  I won't say there will be none, but I am curious what kind of sales spike from new owners Reach would be expected to cause.  I just don't see a lot.  Reach should sell a lot, but why new console owners?

Please explain.

If I had the money I would get one of those bundles for sure.

Who's the best Pac, Nas, and Big. Just leave it to that.

PLAYSTATION®3 is the future.....NOW.......B_E_L_I_E_V_E

Slaughterhouse Is The Sh*t  .... NOW ........ B_E_L_I_E_V_E

Friends.... who will hold their buddies at gunpoint to buy console and the game to play online with them..

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

Well a friends nephew is getting the Halo Reach 360, simply because he went away to school this year and well the 360 at his home is staying at his home with his family.

So there is some of that or similiar circumstances.

Also have people that have played at others and now are getting a 360 and Reach of thier own.  Multiple reasons for this as well. For instance one of my middle sons friends is now getting a 360 and Reach now that his is 13. Parents now deem him old enough.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

I could have sworn that when Halo 3 was released the 360 jumped into first place for a few weeks, so I wouldn't say that none of the three games have driven people to buy a 360 yet.

I'm sure there even are a few members on VGC that have been playing around with the thought of getting an X360 for a while, and now that Halo Reach comes out with all the attention it gets and the Xbox 360 feeling somewhat "hot" at the moment, they'll think it's only natural to finally take that step and jump on board.

There are tons of people who were playing Halo 2 up untill just a few months ago and there are even more people that have yet to make the jump to HD gaming at all. So there are plenty of serious gamers who are ready to board the Halo Reach train. You might even see a spike in Halo 3 and ODST sales thanks to all the Halo Reach publicity.

Some people might consider it good moment to buy new slim to replace their old x360 fat.

THIS.

My 360 Elite has lasted me almost three years now, and I think its life will end eventually before its fourth bday. As it is out of warranty, I totally see the new slim as good value. If I can find a slim Halo Reach edition, I'd love to get that one.

My take here is that it was early on abnd that was the first Halo on the 360.  The difference now is that three Halo games total have been released, and none of them persuaded you to buy a 360 yet, why woudl Reach do it?
