I've been following Duke Nukem Forever since it started development 12 years ago. However I was never the biggest Duke fan. However when I went to PAX last weekend that all changed, I played the game and am sold now. Just waiting for the pre-orders to start. So I was wondering how many other gamers here on VGChartz plan on buying Duke?

Also do you think Duke Nukem Forever will sell amazingly or do you think it will underperform? Also do you think GearBox decision to absorb most of 3DRealms and purchase the Duke Nukem franchise was a smart decision?

Yes, I still fondly remember blowing up strippers and pigs in cop uniforms in my teen years... actually I think I was 10 when I played it, lol.

Anyway, for the sake of nostalgia, yes. Not sure how well it'll sell. I think it'll do really well initially just because of the 12 year history.

Did you really play it, so it actually exists or are you just teasing us?   

I'll buy it in budget edition, as usual: my huge backlog allows me the luxury of saving (and waiting for patches and to know whether a game is worthy).   

Yes, definitely. Seeing the gameplay videos reminded me how much I loved Duke Nukem 3D. Also, it reminds me of the new Turok, which I loved for some strange reasons.

Not a chance. Never liked Duke or FPS.

Duke is a pretty big university and I don't have the funds right now to buy it.  Maybe I'll buy it for my retirement and disband their basketball team.

I remember day one hearing it was fake and many people not believing it was playable. So I stood in line 4 and half hours the next day to see it for myself. Holy crap it was freaking amazing way better then the old teasers shown by 3DRealms. Their was a hilarious video a boss battle and a level but we only had 10-minutes so I didn't get through the level.

But I have to say it was easily as good as Reach and KillZone3 in my opinion. I am just waiting for a chance to pre-order and I am not really the biggest Duke Nukem fan. I have to say after playing it I think it could be the best FPS launched next year.

Wonderful!!! I'm not anymore a FPS fan as I was in the glorious days of the genre (and even then I bought only true masterpieces of the genre), but this is an even bigger reason for me that when I'll buy another FPS, it will have to be the Duke, and nothing else!!!   
I just hope it won't be censored in UK, as in EU it will be the cheapest place to buy it, and I don't like localized games except very few cases (or when the original language isn't English, but even in those cases I often prefer the English translation to the often awful Italian one, just know to figure it, that the best Italian translation ever was the Planescape: Torment one, that wasn't official but made by a team of enthusiastic fans)...
