Forums - Nintendo - Does the Wiiware version of of Zelda: OoT the best version?

As your profile states you live in the US then the VC version the best if you don't care about master quest.

If you live in the PAL regions, the GC version is the best as it runs at 60hz

I don't know the difference... everyone names things too many names. :P

plus wiiware is more catchy is it has a weeee in it

It is probably an excellent version but not worthy if you already have the Gamecube also. If you still have a N64 it would be nice to find the first version of the game, where the blood is actually red.

I got OoT from the Virtual Console but the controls killed it for me.  Instead of buttons, the C-Stick was mapped to the right analog stick.  I couldn't get used to it.  I finished the first dungeon and then I turned the game off.  Never played it again.

One note about that downloadable version - there's no rumble support, so you're on your own for finding the hidden grottoes.

Use a GCN controller. So much more natural for N64 games.

They did more than change the blood in the VC re-release.  They changed Link's shield, and redid the fire temple's music... again.  Can't speak on the resolution, but the aliasing seems pretty bad don't know how it was on the original.

That was all changed in the GCN versions as well.

Not the Mirror Shield and the music.  Well they changed something again with the shield now that I'm thinking about it, I'm trying to find out what was changed.  But the music I know they replaced again.

If I remember correctly, you can use the buttons of the Gamecube Y, X and Z instead, with the only exception of C-Up. I'm pretty sure I used Z to point with the arrow, which I always have in C-Down.

I understand your complain though, I stopped playing Star Fox 64 because of the C-Stick, until I found you can use buttons instead  :p
