Forums - Sales - EMEAA up sept 4!

Sakamato is one of the creators of Metroid, and a top guy at Nintendo. What makes you think your (e-mail) opinion will triumph over his?

You lowly unsatisfied customer are not worthy of the great Sakamoto!

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

Other M sales are pretty bad. Wasn't Japan's opening week for Other M predicted to be bigger than this? It'll be interesting to see how it does in the US, but if it struggles to break a million you have to wonder what Nintendo will do next with Metroid. Metroid Dread on 3DS anyone?

All the negative reviews didn't actually help M:OM.

Maybe Wii user base just doesn't like Metroid as previous Nintendo consoles users.

BTW, the series best seller, Metroid:Prime, was on Nintendo's worst selling home console, GC, so it looks like there isn't a coherent and constant link between HW and Metroid sales...

Good numbers for everyone, looking solid for sure.

Other M flopped pretty bad, so what then caused the Wii boost?  I'm really curious since it doesn't seem it was the launch of Metroid.

Next week could possibly see the Wii over 360 in EMEAA, then again just as good of a chance of it not.

Halo Reach hardware boost will be significant.

I would assume that the temporary Wii price cut for the UK Bank Holiday that we saw reflected in last weeks sales is also showing here.

The problem with that theory is that the Wii had a hardware boost of around 15% in all the regions in EMEAA, and the discount was only in the UK.

It's easy to estimate the effect of that "legacy-deal", or however it was called. The deal was Wii with Wii sports for 150$, but without Resort and motion plus. So the difference between Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort (1k more or less) should reflect that Deal-boost. It must be something else that pushed HW that much.

Parents getting ready for Christmas maybe? I think MO:M did some boost in a few countries, let's say on average it boosted Wii HW by about 700 in 11 countries which does add up.

The good old holiday-Ninty boost.

Christmas time is coming and the families want to spend some time with their kids. No flaming. I don't know why, but Ninty is always strong in Christmas holiday season. This year will be no exception, even with Kinect and Move, imho.

But we'll see.

And regarding your predictions for holiday 2010 thread, you are a little biased, or not?

You mean the Nintendo topping 82M thread? I think it can hit at least 82M it needs to do at least 17M this year though.  Oh and I forgot about the uDraw tablet which could be pretty.

I still think we are dropping the 360 to quickly in Europe.  a 14% drop doesn't seem to add up with the reports of high demand for the 360S.  I think the number should still be on the plus side of 90,000 or at least close to it, maybe a 5% drop.
