This is not a PSP2, this is merely the continuation of Sony's move towards simply utilizing the best of Android and PSN/Playstation brands.

Basically all of their portable devices will have strong gaming applications running on Android with a hook into PSN. Gives them a far larger market across all products and adds a good feature set into every existing product they normally sell.

They will put out a more traditional PSP2 that takes media at some point.

... and its confirmed fake, but my logic above still fits as my opinion on Sony's path anyways.

Anyway, I'd like to hope Sony has the common sense to not go this overboard for a gaming platform. Otherwise it'll make the N-Gage look successful... make a simple system with enough power, and at least repeating the PSP shouldn't be too hard. (And while some call it a failure in the wake of the DS, look at the list of all system sales...)
