The only thing I don't understand is why anyone would choose Twitter over Facebook when it comes to promoting their business. Then again, I don't really know all that much about Twitter besides it seems like less profile but more of an instant-messaging style interface than facebook, with constant updates.

that's all it is. You type what's happening and follow other people. That's pretty much it.

OMG, I totally agree! Twitter is, imo, the most useless invention of the last decade. I honestly, HONESTLY do not get why everybody and their grandma is so excited about it. When professional media use it as a source is even worse.

I have never gone to twitter site nor do I even care.  It seems like Access Hollywood only somehow worse.  This just in Tom Cruise took a shit!

i think its so the creator can sell it on for £20 squillion to some other corp so he can retire somewhere nice

Well its obvious most of you have no idea as to who to follow on Twitter.  If you did, most of these comments wouldn't happen.  Its worth it even if you only follow 3 useful people.

i watch/listen to a few sports and the commentators mention twitter especially cricket

also when people sail around the world or do anything like that they use twitter don't they

the mainstream media use it and quote it so it must be a success
