Forums - Sony - Gran Turismo 5 Real-time Damage is Phenomenal.

Its not scripted that’s right its real time, Asane from Gametrailers and GTplanet took a few pics at a Best Buy store, which looks like a latest build of GT5.

You wont see the same damage each time you hit the car, thats the beauty of real time damage.

Please tell us what you think of the damage in Gran Turismo 5.

I am going to have fun with this!

still no effect on the gameplay ?

I'm actually eager to see if there's NASCAR included in this current demo build. Since from all previews, there has been said that the best representation of the damage model is during NASCAR races, it must be pretty amazing!

Well, we can't tell from the pictures. But ISR have talked about the effect of mechanical damage, especially on NASCAR races.

Having your gearbox damaged to the point you can no longer go above 3rd (just an example from what they cited) I think that's a good enough effect on the gameplay. I hope it's translated to all cars and races and not just NASCAR

yeah well if they would do that for all kind of events, I guess I'd be better than having no effect at all.

Yeah, but I don't think it would be limited to that kind of effects. As far as Kaz said, they were trying to simulate a full mechanical damage system, but were yet to see how full it really is.

Nice..

I play PC and PS3. The best of both worlds.

I told you so. My only gripe was bumper cars. As soon as GT5 got true damage it would rule over anything else out there.

Wow, that looks fantastic. It was about damn time they added this to GT, and the final result is great.
