Well, to be honest, Sony hadnt set the bar very high in the first place. At least it doesnt make your skin crawl.

they need to update the xmb on that ad lol, there is a new icon and the playlist function is also supposed to be there,

I would have to say that was the best PS3 ad I've seen, not that thats a huge accomplishment in and of itself as Sony's ad campaign for the PS3 has been horrible.

I do question their use of Lair and a flagship gaming title in the ad though.

The words 'great' and 'Playstation advert' don't work in the same sentence - sorry but this is no different :\

At least for once though they are actually advertising the system and not pulling off some bull theatrics completely that are in no way relevant whatsoever, makes a change!

no doubt it is the best ps3 ad, but not only that, i think it is one of the best ads of this gen, i liked it very much

That really seems like a fan made add. Especially since it mainly focuses on Superman Returns on Blu-ray and Lair. That said, as a fan made vid it's spectacular.

The idea for a successful ad is to be smarter, not louder. Ads that make you think differently about a product. Their Octopus ad is an ideal "loud ad" as it appeals only to the people that are already interested in the PS3 in the first place. This ad was smarter as it kept the viewers attention throughout the ad just to see how it ended and it showed off its capabilities.
