Forums - Microsoft Discussion - 360 Died Again... Need Advice

Right. Long story short... I have a launch 360 Elite and it's just broke for the 4th time.

Now. I need advice. Please

Do I...

a) Send it off to be repaired again.
or
b) Kick it in it's nuts and go buy a 360 Slim.

I really, really don't want to be 360-less for 2 weeks. Especially with Halo coming up and Dragon Age DLC that needs to be destroyed.

I'm leaning more towards a new, reliable Slim. If I DO get the 360 Slim though, is there a way for me to transfer everything on my current HDD over to it??

What are the other advantages of 360 Slim to the 360 Elite?

Thanks.

Step 1. Send it for repairs

Step 2. Buy a slim or fat jasper model if you can find it cheap

Step 3. Sell the repaired xbox with Hard drive and controller for 100 bucks

Otherwise you can buy that transfer kit which lets you transfer content. But the hard drive has to be bigger than the one you are transfering from.

Buy a playst- hold up.

Buy a gaming PC

Where can I get a transfer kit? And for how much?

A 360 Slim will set me back £190 alone. Isn't there one packed in with it?

When a gaming PC has Halo Reach... Then sure.

Until then. Nah. I'll just use my dads on a weekend.

So the wait for the inevitable 360 emulator begins

Nevermind that question, just checked online. £15 from Tesco... If they have one :/

Buy a Gaming PC. You can get a good gaming PC for $500 that will cruch Xbox 360, and you'll still save money from the much cheaper PC games and Steam deals.

If you don't want a PC, then I think you should just get it fixed. This gen won't last more than 2 years, and I think the repairs will be cheaper than a brand new Xbox 360.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Microsoft - Data Transfer Cable for Xbox 360/1073227.p?id=1218217000445&skuId=1073227

Its abotu 20 bucks here In north america.

The problem is that you need a working 360 to transfer data...and the disc that comes with it...  If you got a slim, you'd have to use a fat model that a freind has (with your hard drive attached) or just wait for the repair model to come in...in order to transfer data.

Hows your PS3 running

i had a vision your PS3 would of went this year theres still 4 more months in this year though

send it out then trade it or sell it privately use the funds and get the new 360

yes i think they give you a cable with new 360 but you might need to have the old one working im not sure but i know you can transfer the data or use a usb thumb drives and transfer the saves

wireless internet, touch sensitive buttons, more HDD space
