@origin, as for GTAIV, i'm expecting a full, living, breathing city. go back and read the articles and writeups by different guys that have tested out or seen the demos of it. it should be MUCH more than just pretty!

I really dislike Cover based 3rd person shooters, never played through gears, Graw or Mass Effect yet because I find that it's way to slow... it slows down the action too much for me. I dunno why, everyone loves it but I just don't. I really hope they don't do that in GTA4 it's about having health and blasting your way through with massive fire power and spraying bullets everywhere, not accurate headshots... that will destroy the tempo of a GTA game.

 I hope you know that R* never used CG cutscenes so those are all real animations, ingame imagery. The fighting looks pretty good. 

I know they are real time cut scenes, but cut scenes tell you nothing about what the game play will be like. Or even what the game will look like when played (hence the skewed, cinematic like camera angles on the ACTUAL game play pieces)

Ok well the graphics are definitely no where near what I was hoping for but they are still well beyond last time. I was also a bit disheartened by the frame rate but I think it is important to remember just how far out we are still. Its going to be at least another 3-4 months before the game is released so there is a lot that can be done in that time frame.

With that said, it seems like in true GTA style the story is going to be top notch and if they have added a cover system it will be that much better. I actually think GTA IV is one of the things that could of hurt Wii this year by putting a lot of sales behind the PS3 and the 360. But with its delay the Wii is going to be much stronger and developers much more invested in it before it hits and as a result it likely will have no long term impact on the Wii. In short GTA IV was the type of game that could have tipped the balance for the console war if it had released in October....the Feb-Apr '08 time frame though...not so much.

This is likely the game that can finally get me to buy a second console but I am not sure if it is going to be as it releases or not. It really is one of my favorite series but even that isn't going to get me to ignore the BC issues of the PS3 and I have pretty much decided that a 360 makes no sense due to its huge overlap with PC games.

There's no gameplay in that movie... all of it is scripted stuff (or replay type camera angles).

Why do they call it Grand Theft Auto 4? Was there not Vice City, and San Andreas after 3? Should this not be Grand Theft Auto 6? Why go back to numbering them? Once you switch from numbering, to naming, you cannot go back to numbering. For example, Grand Theft Auto: New York City, would have made more sense.
