Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft stops supplying subscription codes until price increase hits.

We have just received information from local online codes website EvoPoints.co.za Microsoft will no longer be issuing any more subscription codes until the price increase kicks in.

Yes, this means that there will be a shortage hitting very soon too.

More after the jump.

This, as well as the fact that they are essentially depriving people of the ability to renew with a code until it costs more.

If you don’t already know, the increased price will take effect on the 1st of November. We expect that this may cause the price of subscriptions from resellers to go up ahead of time, as the codes will be in short supply.

I personally believe that this is quite a devious move from Microsoft and people should have the right to have codes supplied to them at the normal rates until the price increase rolls out. Any thoughts?

I guess you should get to buying them right now.

Seece must be happy, Microsoft will have more money.

But war... war never changes

I got an e-mail from ms about the change, and it linked me to a 20% off page for live. I think it was a year for 29.99 or 39.99 can't remember.

does this mean that the cards i already own will be useless after the change of price? i hope not, because i have two to use after my time expires.

No, I think they are doing this so people will not stock pile on cards before the hike. Unless your cards have some sort of use by date you should be fine.

and you can use them right now. You can have up to three years of gold membership on one account

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Lol Figures.

Atto Suggests...:

Book - Malazan Book of the Fallen series

Game - Metro Last Light

TV - Deadwood

Music - Forest Swords

As long as the card I still havent used will still work I dont care what they do. But if they somehow make my code invalid when i go to use it Ill be a little pissed

This is funny

It's like they are desperate for the money.

Thankfully I live in the UK, where our yearly costs aint changed

I wouldn't say desperate for the money. More lIke they are stopping resellers from making a profit by piling up on cheaper cards to resell at a higher price when the subs go up. Seems like a smart decision if they are going to raise prices.
