Wii sales have dropped to become slightly above PS3 levels, but they are still slightly above PS3 levels. The one week PS3 did surpass Wii in sales was due to a White console in Japan, and ever since then PS3 sales have been dropping. It's true that Nintendo doesn't really have any system seller until Wii Party, but other then the Move, what does PS3 have until Gran Turismo 5? There is LBP 2, but that won't push any more consoles then Kirby or Metroid, and Nintendo's Wii just takes off regardless in the holidays.
Sales start to go up during September, in expectation to the holidays, and with Halo making a strong bias to 360's for HD consoles this September, the PS3 won't be getting too much light (At least in the Americas). Yes there is the Move, but wil that hurt Wii sales?
I still hold Zero, PS3 will surpass Wii sales regionally (like in Europe during GT5 launch, and maybe Move launch), but worldwide, no. Nintendo has an amazing line-up of games starting in Spetember, and I think the PS3 is going to have a week holiday season in Americas.
Maybe next year.
Edit: looking at Release dates, the Wii has Deca Sports 3 in Japan for September 6th, and New Carnival Games for Americas on the 21st. That with Metroid: Other M give the Wii a slight boost for September sales, and in October Nintendos dominant streak will begin.
To be fair PS3 has EyePet and Sports Shampions in Americas on the 7th, and Sports Champions in EMEAA on the 16th, and Front Mission will give a small PS3 boost in Japan on the 16th.
P.S. I'm excited for Quantum Theory
