I don't see how it is too much. For one new PS3/360 game your going to pay $64.79 in NYS and most of those games are 6-12 hours long.

and this MMORPG is 13/month and it gives you 720 hours a month.

For that same price you just spent on a 12 hour game you get 4.9 months worth of playtime, more content than that 12 hour game, as well as new content.

That is a total of 3,588.3 hours compared to 12 hours.

I don't see how $13/month is that big a deal.

Or how about you buy a game like halo: odst and get that same 720 hours a month for the price of one months subscriber fee. Heck, online games do offer so much more than single player games!

For the same price you spent on a "12 hour game" you will get one month of mmo-gaming. In this case, 8 hours a week. Then you have to pay for more. Also you just seem to ignore the FREE online component on those "12 hour games".

65$ 13$/month is a big deal.

Xbox Live isn't free. and MMORPGs still have 100000000000000000000000000% more content than ANY online shooter.

and again the 8 hour rumor was a lie spread by Sakura Complex. How many times do I have to say it?

No they don't. Halo has much more content for me than any mmo-game could ever have. And guess what, there is no monthly fee on that.

Not trying to be a Sony fanboy but rethink your comment there....ok so its an annual fee and you get to do more then play Halo but still...just sayin

What? I am not paying to play halo online. I am paying 3$/month for live gold. That includes all the games, except some stuff like FF XIV.

Ok well stop paying the $3 a month and then play Halo online...good luck.

Hide your kids, hide your wife

That's a fair price, lets hope that the console version is cheaper.

Wrong, Dungeons & Dragons Online went F2P, which turned out to be a huge success, and so the developer is now turning Lord of the Rings Online into a F2P game.

Whether that's ever going to happen to a MMO ran by Square-Enix is whole different story though...

bummer, i was hoping at least maybe a reduced price

Actually the monthly fee is expensive, I had assumed that it was $1 for each additional character to slot like in FFXI. It's essentially $4 for each additonial character slot. Most $15 a month MMOs come with several character slots included.

This argument doesn't apply to everyone and every game.

MAG - I payed 100(USD) bought in the Bahamas. I've already gotten 190 hours out of it and with move support and the new mode coming, that's only gonna grow. Only additional cost I've paid so far is 10$ for the interdiction game mode and armor pack.

Demon's Souls - Payed 60(USD), Took me 150 hours to platinum and I still want to play more. Paid no additional costs

Killzone 2 - Payed 60(USD), got 250 hours out of it. Only additional cost was 12 dollar bundle with all three DLC packs released. That's 6 maps.

COD4 - 60(USD), 180 hours. No additional costs.

A number of pokemon games I bought that i've gotten atleast 80 hours out of each for 40$ each.

Tekken 5DR Online - 130 hours. 30$, no additional costs

Tekken 6 - 100(USD)... yea... bought in Bahamas... 140hours, no additional costs.
