Forums - Gaming - Is it just me or is the 360 low on exclusives in 2011 vs the PS3?

Microsoft dropped the ball with RARE plain and simple. They went from a groundbreaking developer to lackies for casual titles. Now that they felt down in the dumps Microsofts Molyneux to be their knight in shining armor. Molyneux has done nothing big in my eyes to help Microsofts image increase. It's all been in part to Mass Effect, Halo and Gears and I love all of those games. The difference between many here and I is I am not afraid to call a companies bullshit. Hell...some people pull the fanboyism card just because I do. I'll say my piece on Sony and Microsoft as I see fit whether they are doing well or dropping the ball. I am a fan of neither. I don't know why I have to keep repeating this to you guys.

They dropped the ball with all the good developers they had.

Where are the people who made Freelancer? How stupid someone was to drop the licence for mechwarrior ? And the cherry top of idiotic ice cake - why the hell some idiot decided to sell Bioware to EA - that studio was responsible for some of the best xbox and x360 titles they ever had.

And Fable series by Molyneux is not their knight - in fact ever next part of that series is more casualized and closer to fantasy version of Sims instead of RPG.

I know if that trio remained under MS wings and produced more of those titles as exclusives I'd have been probably forced to buy x360 by now.

Just remember that exact same thing was said about the Xbox 360's 2010 lineup back in 2009 and it looks like the system has at least three games in the running for GOTY,  two of which can only be played on Xbox 360 in 2010 and the other with the 360 having the superior console version.

Red dead redemption (PS3/360)

Mass effect 2 (PS3/360)

Maybe Halo reach (360)

while the ps3 has..

God of war III (PS3)

Gran turismo 5 (PS3)

Little big planet 2 (PS3)

Red dead redemption (PS3/360)

Mass effect 2 (PS3/360)

Sure mass effect 2 is coming out in january for ps3, but you threw the "360 has the superior red dead" comment and I can fight back with , PS3 has the far superior Mass effect 2 based on Content alone..

I hate getting into list wars, but the fact of the matter is, not only has the ps3 consistenly for 3 years straight 08,09,10 had the best line up of games this gen on a console, but 2011 is looking better than ever before..

360 did well in 2006, 2007, but after that the ps3 really has gotten most of the AAA ip from both 3rd party and the best 1st party.

Am I being biased? Maybe, but metacritic doesn't lie

The point of the post is obvious, the 360 does NOT have a bad line up this year or the next, in fact It has an amazing line up, for 2010 and 2011, but the ps3 has more ip coming out than the 360 does which may relfect AAA stature on metacritic.

So you think the version of Mass Effect 2 that doesn't take into account any of the choices made from Mass Effect 1 is the superior one?  Really?

You forgot FF Versus XIII

I predict: Final Fantasy Versus XIII  will be announced for XBox 360 at  next year's E3. 2012 multi-platform release. FFXIII on XBox 360 has been a success and will sell over 2 million sales on the 360. Japan version of FFXIII will soon be launched and it should help bring home another 400k sales. Porting a game splits the development costs and boosts sales and profits from the extra game sales. Final Fantasy XIV appearing as on the 360 has not been ruled out.

360 is doing well to compete with the PS3 despite having less than one third the amount of exclusive games as Sony and PS3. Sony has a lot of overhead costs with all its one and two party development studios.

360 remains the preferred console for the third party developers to develop multi-platform games instead of the complicated PS3.

that changed a long time ago :P

Red Dead Redemption, Mafia 2, and dozens of other games say otherwise.  The simple truth is that the Xbox 360 is the lead console for many third party titles and the system that usually has the best console version of a game.

what about portal 2, medal of honor, crysis 2, vanquish.... things are starting to change.

add in dead space 2 and burnout.

Q4 10  for the 360: Fable 3 and Halo:Reach should be included on the exclusive games  list.

Gears of War 3, Halo: Reach, Fable 3 are released within 6 months for the 360. PS3 has more games including Gran Turismo 5 and quite a few others. 360 has some good exclusive games to keep its gamers happy.

Stop spinning things. A new year is a new year man.

Unlike some of you I live in the present where games like Crysis 2 , Vanguish, and Dead Space 2 haven't been released yet.  So I have to use sites like Digital Foundry's blog where the last  9 out of the 10 multiplatform games the Xbox 360 version was deemed superior.

What's really interesting is that around this time last year people were also telling me things had changed as well.

Nah wats interesting in FF13 case 360 fans were all "it doesn't matter I'll enjoy it on my 360" now its a different tone?

look I even found your post!!!

Legend11 on 07 February 2010

The amount of bitter tears as a result of this game going multiplatform is amazing.  It's like some Sony fanboys die a little inside every time someone says they're going to buy the 360 version of the game.  What's even more funny is that this thread is based on an obviously bullshit claim (uncompressed 1080P video) when it's likely that the difference will be so small that the vast majority of people would have trouble seeing it even if it was pointed out to them.

LMAO the hypocrisy!!!!!

besides why are we even talking about teh "slightly superior multiplat" this is about exclusives......

Why not wait until you actually know what is coming out for the system in 2011 before rushing to judgment?

Mass Effect 2 on PS3 is a Game of the year 2010 contender, even though it isn't even released in 2010. It is so much better.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...
