Shouldn't you be buying more? It will be much more worthy by the end of the fiscal year once 3DS starts printing money.

As for the support I feel Sony and MS provided some help both labor and financial, that way it's an easy venture for them.

They said it already. They think they're going to do fine as their own things, but fail to extend the lifespan of the PS3 and 360

For third parties, it'll be fine, but they won't do what Microsoft and Sony are especially looking for.

Put off the necessity of releasing a successor console. Sony thinks this will be the leg in their 10-year plan, and Microsoft issued similar statements. These devices alone will not make that possible, though they may prove to be a viable software market in their own time.

what makes you think that is what Sony an microsoft are looking at to extend the console life cycle to 10 year's?

just look at the XBOX360s as a prime example..it's a upgraded xbox360 with a price of $199.00 $299.00

and has fantastic sales for over 9 week's so far. here we are 2010 going on 2011, what new thing will the next xbox what ever it will be called offer over the current model that will make people go out and race to buy one?

if you notice the many remakes of the DS have done wonder's for nintendo but the DS lite still sell's great. the first xbox360 elite and arcade still sold great before the slim and so will the slim xbox360.

I think that's the real issue, not for Microsoft or any of the big 3 this time all three system's have robust online structure, well atleast better than the previous system's that they put out. the next system's will not offer anything as a real big point of contention to offset the abilities of these current system's to make it a real incentive to keep support away from the current system's out now.

yes you will have upgraded graphic's but Half the experience of the xbox360 experience is online based, and slowly that the same with Sony and Nintendo.

3RD party's know this some are not happy about it other's are but that's just the way it is gone are the day's of the big expensive single use system's.The more convergence that you put in the system's the longer they remain viable.

Sony's Move will be a failure. I see no excitement for it in the media and pre-orders are low so far.

Kinect may fare better, but I don't see it pushing hardware lifecycles.

And as for 3DS? All I can say is that I'm buying it day one. It's a fraction of the cost of a 3dtv, requires no glasses, and has a crap-load of great content being launched with it. Kid Icarus alone look fantastic and it will be the first game I buy and play.
