Well that's a wrong way to give a review score. You shouldn't include DLC in the score.

I disagree when the DLC is free and available on launch day.  If those are true then there is no meaningful difference between what's on the disc and what you download extra.

Doh! I was hoping our reviewers would think otherwise.

It totally could screw up review scores and comparability though. If later for some reason the other version (X360 in this case) got the same DLC as a free download you'd forever have a misleading difference in review scores between the versions.

I think you have to be very careful to judge value versus price of a game. I'm not saying it's easy and it's apparent how problematic it is when expansions are reviewed because they always tend to get 10 points lower than the original game, despite the cost.

There will always be changes down the line that can make a review of the game on launch day inaccurate.  What happens if Sega goes back and fixes up Bayonetta on PS3?  If Modnation Racers puts in a patch that makes the loading times 3 seconds at most should we go back and rescore it?  No, all we can do is write a review based on the condition of the game at the time of writing and if that changes later we can add a note on the bottom but we can't change our scores or act like differences don't exist because they may change later.

Good points. But what if it is apparent that one version got a timed DLC for free at release and the other didn't?

If we know it's timed I would leave the scores the same and mention it in the review, but not if we only suspect that it's timed.

I really don't think the DLC they described matches their differences in discriptions between what's a 7 and what's a 6, but that's just my opinion. I wasn't going to get this game anyway, so I don't really care.

Well, I ran out of arguments so I'm just gonna say that I prefer reviews that give the same score to PS360PC multiplatform versions.
