but seriously STAR WARS deserves to come back to theatres in 3D!

Only if Lucas himself doens't write or direct much of it. That's what made the first three the best.

I never saw it in 3D, but this is another example of James Cameron slow trot downhill that he's been on since the early 90s, but hey, at least he didn't go as fast as M Night Shyamalan. Don't try to paint people who don't like it into a corner. I find it to be incredibly overrated, because it's a complete ripoff of Dances With Wolves. If you've seen that movie, you've seen this story before, and more importantly, you've seen this story done better before, without characters that are complete stereotypes. That is why I don't like this film, and not because I want to dislike something mainstream for the sake of disliking something mainstream.

LOL what? In my post that you quoted I state that Avatar has an unoriginal story, and then you use it's unoriginality as part of your argument. What am i missing?

You're clearly in the first group of people I mentioned. Those that went into Avatar expecting something that it wasn't. If you were expecting some riveting, totally original story with deep characters, and emotion-stirring dialogue then you were obviously going to be disappointed. If you went in, as i did, hoping to experience mind-blowing visuals, top notch 3d effects, and a beautifully imagined world then you'd have been satisfied.

Maybe I'm in a minority, but I try not too expect more from movies than they are intended to be. I don't go into a horror movie hoping for a happy ending, or into a michael bay movie expecting to have my brain exercised the way I would with a movie like Inception.

It's not in theaters bye were I live,but I have a hard time sitting through a 3 hr movie in gerneral. lol

You said the story was good, even though it was unoriginal. I highly disagree with that notion. The fact that this is so much of a ripoff as I said before, stops it from being good at all. Avatar doesn't give me everything I pay for. It hides its unoriginal story in its 3D in an attempt to blind the audience that the story is indeed a ripoff. The fact that this film was nominated for best picture for the Academy Awards shows you how much of a joke the academy is nowadays, and by the way, would lead you to expect that it had some semblance of a good story there, when there is none. I'm sure the 3D is great and all, but that does not excuse blatantly ripping off other material and trying to pass it off as "a breathtaking original world." It's almost as if James Cameron sat watching a mixture of Dances with Wolves and Pocahantas with a legal pad, taking notes of which parts he would use in Avatar.
