Nintendo already owned a sizable share of NDCube. All they did was buy out their partner. NdCube developed the FZero games for the GBA, Maximum Velocity and GP Legends. There may be another title but I can not think of it right now.

They were majority shareholder before, with a controlling 70% stake.  This isn't really news, Nintendo essentially owned NdCube before and even listed them as a consolidated subsidiary on their balance sheets.

Other studios Nintendo (mostly) owns include...

  • Brownie Brown (100%)
  • HAL Laboratory (100%)
  • Intelligent Systems (100%)
  • Retro Studios (100%)
  • Monolith Software (80%)
  • Project Sora (76%)
  • Genius Sonority (56%)
  • Ambrella (???%)
  • Creatures Inc. (???%)
  • Noise (???%)

I know Namco still owns some of Monolith, but do you know who owns the rest of project sora?  Is it Sakurai himself?

Yeah, Sakurai owns the rest of Project Sora.  Namco Bandai still owns 16% of Monolith btw, so not a little stake but Nintendo seems to have shouldered the burden of finances (to the company's benefit imo).  It's no wonder that Tales Studio guy was making a public plea with Nintendo to buy them out too.

Just the concept of animal trackers would worth buying this company, when u play it with 4 people you will understand and this is something that move or kincketics can not emulate hahaha

GO PATS! 2012 THE YEAR OF NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS'S 4TH SUPER BOWL!

Was he really? I never heard this. Do you have a link?

If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba

I too would like to see a link to that. Buy Tales studio, you buy Tales (even if Namco holds remaining rights, all the spirit of it would migrate over with the talent anyway)

Wii Party 2 in 2011?

Wii Party 3 in 2012?

Wii Party 4 by 2013?

I hope not...Mario Party was great in the beginning but after 5 it just got very old so I hope they wait and at the most put out 1 every other year.

It was part of the recent near bankruptcy story... though looking it up it seems it was just the Tales fan/blogger who broke the story, no the leaker at Tales Studio. :/

Seriously I thought MarioParty 4 was the beginning of the end, that game was horrible. But I did regain faith in the franchise with MP6,7,8!

Infact give me MarioParty9 with 4-8 player online and I will be a very happy camper. I love MP. But I'm sceptical of WiiParty, but with it bundled with a controller I probubly will consider a purchase!
