really it's not big of a deal, it is still coming afterall.  the software will be done when the software is done.  all this really shows is the MS is really under the wire trying to meet  the deadlines marketing set.  as an employee of a software company, i completely understand the tough position you can get in when the higher ups disregard your recommendations and set an impossible deadline.

last year our one of our groups was developing a product and had a deadline.  about 3 months before the deadline they got told the sales team already sold the product and we need to start installing the sofware in two week.  i'm mean really...wtf.

o'l man that is like the story i have with our pen n paper rpg we had got published 10 year's ago, we needed to edit some of the background and some of the game mechanic's needed tweaking but needed to be redone before it ship's, but one of the higher up's already sent it to the publisher!

so we had to send out errata. 4 pages worth!
