Would it affect you if Sony decided to limit the USBs in your PS3?

Yes, it would because I use them 20 58.82%

No, it wouldn't because I don't need them 3 8.82%

Maybe yes 1 2.94%

Maybe not 0 0%

Can't wait for Versus XIII release date 10 29.41%

Total:34

So... If Sony decided to "limit" the USB ports in your PS3 via a Firmware update and they could only be used for charging purposes, would you be affected by this decision?

I would because everyday I use my PS3 and create a new save file in a game or overwrite a save file in a game with new progress data, before turning my PS3 off, I back up every (new/updated) save file by copying them to an MP3 player I use as a Flashdrive/Pendrive or whatever you call it.

If Sony decided to do that, I wouldn't be able to do that anymore :( and that would suck because that's a very important feature for me since I even pass from games I like (like Bayonetta) just because the save files are copy-protected and can't be backed-up. If Sony did this, It would be as if every game had copy-protected data >_< and if my PS3 dies someday, I'll lose hundreds of hours of hard work in my games :(

So... Do you use your USB ports? what for? would limiting them be a problem for you?

I really don't think Sony will do this... but I've seen many "rumours" in forums saying that a new firmware update is in the works that will prevent mass storage devices to be recognized by the PS3 :S So... this is starting to scare me a little bit T_T

It wouldnt affect me as I dont use the USB much, but I wouldnt aprove it at all.

No I use them all the time,  With all the transferring of music, videos and photos from my computer to my PS3 this would be a no go for me.

How would you use the PSEye?

Not to mention it would make the photo section of the XMB useless.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

would hardly effect me much since i only use the usb ports for charging my controller and headset.

It's "limit" not "block"

And yes, this would affect me. I will not update my ps3 if this is real, and because i would not have longer PSN, I would probably jailbreak it.
