So... If Sony decided to "limit" the USB ports in your PS3 via a Firmware update and they could only be used for charging purposes, would you be affected by this decision?
I would because everyday I use my PS3 and create a new save file in a game or overwrite a save file in a game with new progress data, before turning my PS3 off, I back up every (new/updated) save file by copying them to an MP3 player I use as a Flashdrive/Pendrive or whatever you call it.
If Sony decided to do that, I wouldn't be able to do that anymore :( and that would suck because that's a very important feature for me since I even pass from games I like (like Bayonetta) just because the save files are copy-protected and can't be backed-up. If Sony did this, It would be as if every game had copy-protected data >_< and if my PS3 dies someday, I'll lose hundreds of hours of hard work in my games :(
So... Do you use your USB ports? what for? would limiting them be a problem for you?
I really don't think Sony will do this... but I've seen many "rumours" in forums saying that a new firmware update is in the works that will prevent mass storage devices to be recognized by the PS3 :S So... this is starting to scare me a little bit T_T
