Just curious how many members in here bought the newer console releases as a first buy or a replacement.  No arguments please.  Just a simple poll for curiosity.

I've never ever bought a re-design for a home console

Handhelds on the other hand, I've bought the likes of the SP, Micro, DSlite and DSi

The only system that i have had to re-buy was another PS2 when my dad broke my launch console, bought the silver one when it came out and now got a slim used as a DVD player in the bedroom (bought for my dad but got it back a few years ago since he is a PC gamer now, recently changing to PS3 due to costs)

I own all three consoles, all of them are not there redesigned versions, and I can't see why I would ever re-buy something just because it's smaller.

The funny thing, and it's only funny because it never happens... Is I have a launch PS3 running on a 50" LCOS TV.

You can not buy a new PS3 today, as good as the PS3 I own, and you can not buy a new projection TV today, as good as the one I have. (LCOS was the best, but it just cost to much to make)

I can not think of a time where something 3 years newer in the electronics industry, was not better. I just thought that was strange.

i brought a ps3 slim. i didnt replace. i dont need to rebuy the same console its a waist of money doing it lol

i also own a white wii and never replaced it just for a coloured one after all, it hasnt got added features so theres no point

I bought a 360 Slim its the first 360.

i am looking at getting that PS3 with move bundle since my PS3 is a UK version and i can't play all these bluray movies and PS1 games that i bought =[ (region locking is a DICK!! >_<)

If you have high speed internet, you can download torrents of movies you own. It's legal.

Well, not sure if it's legal to download an unlocked movie to watch in the part of the world where you movie does not work, but the point of region locking it to try and prevent counter-fitting, not to keep paying customers from playing there legitimate movies anywhere they like.

none but I'm leaning to buy a 360S sometime next year probably.

I have a Phat PS3 since January 2008

I have an XBOX 360 Special Edition Modern Warfare 2 Super Elite since November 2009 (replaced a broken 360 Pro that I had since March 2006)

I have a White Wii since April 2008

My Black Wii, replaced my white Wii, which was "creatively acquired" by my nephew (he borrowed it, and then just never got around to returning it).

My 360S replaced my Elite... Because I wanted to.

I only have the original PS3 though, which I bought at the price cut/slim launch.
