We buy Kinectimals, Eye pet instead of real pet?
And Milo instead of a real friend?
Why are so many games trying to give reality,
reality with easy mode,
reality with no skill, knowledge or brains required?
Don't forget "RPGs" that play themselves. Like Final Fantasy XIII. Apparently we lack the brains to strategize and take control of battles.

Some people either lack the skill or don't want/can't buy a guitar/skateboard, so they buy games to appease those wills. For pets, well, I think it only works portable, since you can't bring your pet everywhere (and tha's where Kinectimals fails). For Milo I have no idea, I just think Microsoft is stupid.

Hey, don't insult me with that Kinect, Move crap. I bought Nintendogs instead of a real pet. And it's not my fault that I'm afraid a real dog would eat me.

We play guitar hero because its easy to learn. It makes us lazy, but whatever.
We play Ride because it won't break any bones. Ever tried skateboarding, or know a pro boarder? Scars....
We play with the eyepet because it doesn't piss all over the furniture, shed all over the carpet, or cost $100/month to feed.
No comment on Milo, wtf.
I agree there are games making us lazy/stupid. But the ones you posted here aren't the ones I was thinking of. I was waiting to see GTA in here. I can't tell you how many punk kids I see now in my neighborhood that think they are gonna grow up to steal cars, sell drugs, and shoot anyone they don't like. Compared to that, I'd say the 'simulator games' are harmless.

well for the virtual animals, for kids its a lot better than a real pet, no mess, no cost after the initial cost, no deaths.

Curiously enough however, I've logged up to now almost 80 hours on that game, with more to come until I have the platinum trophy, and have yet to use its auto features.
The choice is there, but it doesn't mean you have to use it. Keep your hate at bay.
because I am already stupid and useless, reality is too much for me, I have to practise in the games first before I can have a life.
