Why are people complaing of a reboot?

You have to admit Spiderman 3 was weak compared to the previous ones... and Mary Jane was also kinda useless, I'm glad she was taken away.

It would be cool that the next spiderman had a rachel dawes type of girl, really usefull to the story and not the girly girl who will never die

SM3 Should have been just Venom and Harry/Green Goblin. If it was Raimi's idea to add Sandman then I'm glad there is a reboot.

The reason Spiderman 3 was so bad was because the Sony Pictures told Raimi to add Venom to the movie. The original script only had Sandman and Harry/New Goblin. In other words, the new direction you are seeking is being headed up by the jackasses that screwed up Spiderman 3.

To tell you the truth the biggest problem with the movie was Sandman... He was shoe horned in there worst than Brock was. Atleast Brock had most of his origins and reasons to kill Spider-man intact. Making Sandman part of Ben's murder and just the way he was handled. That was the biggest fail of that movie. Raimi got Spider-man the first right he didn't get it right after that. Oh and everyone blames Sony for Venom but someone show me proof of that cause right after that movie Marvel went on this huge campaign with Spider-man back in black. Way to much of a coincidence for an advertising campaign.
