GodOfWar_3ever: Go read T10 forum and stop spamming bullshit about next Forza title being Kinect only. It was a showcase of one of the modes in the game.

I'm sorry, but where have I said its Kinect only ? I said it would be great if it wasn't Kinect only.

Edit : To clarify, I didn't know whether its kinect only or not.... I think this has been a case of misundertanding...

I'm disappointed you saw that post as "spamming bullshit".

I was simply stating my opinion on what diryp2002 said...that is all... and as I said before, I'm sure things will open up and more will be revealed by E3 next year...so no worries

Very interesting...I think this years holiday sales will be most interesting this generation.

I think Ps3 will be number 1 if Move succeeds :o

Take my love, take my land..

I have come to the realization that I don't think it matters that 360 has a weak game lineup people will still buy the system. It does really well in the US and UK and the only place it is a real failure is Japan. People have been saying since 2008 that Sony has had a better software lineup and for my money they have yet the 360 continues to survive on the backs of 3rd party multi-plats. It really is the strangest thing, for my money blu-ray> dvd, reliable console > rrod, quite> loud, better software> mostly multi-plat. Yet, 360 was not only able to overcome those short comings they flourished. The comes the S, which takes away a couple of main deficiencies adding wifi, fixing rrod, making the system quiter and the system takes off again.

So as a Sony fan I hope the no blu ray and weaker software lineup catches up to the 360 but as realist it probably wont matter

Are we still saying the Xbox 360 has no game for next year?! I am hearing this since 2007.

2011 titles:

  • Forza Kinect (Turn10) - Great...if its not kinect only
  • Gears of War 3 (Epic) - Mindblowingly awesome
  • XCOM (2K Games) - Also on PC
  • Star Wars Game (MGS) - Kinect only
  • Project Kingdom (Crytek) - Not sure if its Kinect only...if it isn't it'll most likely come to PC as well...its by Crytek after all
  • Crossboard 7 (Konami) - Kinect only
  • Fighters UNCAGED (Ubisoft) - Kinect Only

Those are confirmed.

And E3 will give us new games as well.

I'm sure we'll see more at E3, but that line up looks pretty weak atm...but that will probably change.

I have nothing against the casual experience Kinect brings...but it has more to prove in the core game department.....

A Kinect-only Forza Kinect would be PERFECT to simulate an AWFUL LOT of COOL vehicles that everybody always dreamt about driving, like:

  1. The invisible bike from "Help!... It's the Hair Bear Bunch!"
  2. Magic Carpets
  3. Teleportation
  4. Wearing the Greatest American Hero's red suit and pretending to fly
  5. Er... Ehm... Help, I can't find anything else!

Stwike him, Centuwion. Stwike him vewy wuffly! (Pontius Pilate, "Life of Brian")
A fart without stink is like a sky without stars.
TGS, Third Grade Shooter: brand new genre invented by Kevin Butler exclusively for Natal WiiToo Kinect. PEW! PEW-PEW-PEW!

Being Kinect only does not make the game less exclusive.

I forgot Milo btw. Could be a game or could not. Who knows. As far as I can judge: Too much people are working on a tech demo...

And we don't know what

  • Rare
  • FIrebird
  • Spawnpoint studios
  • 343 industries (not 2011 though)
  • feelplus
  • Mistwalker

are working on.

And the new Mech Assault game should be released 2011, too.

I like that you did your reasearch, but there are some loops.

Mistwalkers is not Microsoft In-House, Microsoft just finincially backed up the development of Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon. Mistwalker only made 2 360 titles back in 2006/2007, and now they are working on a Wii exclusive.

feelplus is an internal Microsoft studio, but they haven't made a single 360 exclusive on their own. they were only purchased by Microsoft to help in the making of Lost Odyssey, and several 360 exclusive JRPG's.

WTH is Firebird and Spawnpoint studios? Never heard of them.

Rare could made something kick ass like Killer Instinct 3.

Out of your list, you mentioned 3 good games, and then Kinect titles. Gears, XCOM, and Mech Assault.

My only concern about xbox's 2011 lineup is that it's non-Kinect lineup, what blockbuster title will it have this fall? Gears is spring, Halo is 2010, and Forza is kinect. What else could microsoft do? Whatever game's they get exclusivly, they will probably be third party, and I just can't picture 2011 being as good of a year in gaming as 2007, 2008, and 2010.

I love my 360, don't get me wrong, it's just Microsoft recycles in 4 major brands in the holidays, and next year I don't see an impressive linup that isn't kinect. I don't want a kinect, does that mean I can no longer play new 360 exclusives? 2006 had Gears, 2007 had PGR4, Forza 2, Masss Effect, and Halo 3, 2008 had Fable 2 and Gears 2, 2009 had Halo ODST, Forza 3 and jut after Mass Effect 2, 2010 has Halo Reach, Fable 3, and in spring 2011 there is Gears 3.

Talking to you, I know Microsoft is going to pull something out of it's sleeve, I just don't know what. Mass Effect 3 maybe? I'm hoping for Killer Instinct 3, or maybe just a good, well funded game by Rare.

Thats bs. For one Microsoft has had an amazing software lineup since launch, and I prefer the exclusive lineup over the PS3 lineup. Look at 2011, PS3 has GT5, LBP2, GoW3, and Heavy Rain. 360 has Halo: Reach, Fable 3, Alan Wake, Crackdown 2, Splinter Cell: Conviction, and Mass Effect 2. Microsoft has had a very strong exclusive software lineup, to say otherwise is just favoring PS3 exclusives over 360 exclusives. Also speaking of better software lineup for your money, go to the store, hopw many good PS3 titles are under $20? Not many. 360 has a lot more, multiplatform titles are cheaper used on the 360 by at least $5-10 per game, and a lot of the old "timed exclusives" are half the price or less of the PS3 counterparts. Why would I pay $45 for GTA: Episodes from liberty city on PS3 used, when I can pick it up for $20 on the 360 used?

Also the Fail rate was fixed with the HDMI model of 360 way back in 2008, your just using that to hurt the 360 image to prove your point now.

Blue-Ray has nothing to do with gaming, and with the ability to download 1080p movies for free stright off your Xbox or PC, why does this matter?

Thats the only thing Sony ever had on Microsoft, that and the noise, which is fixed with the Slim model, and really isn't that bad for the old SKU 360. It's just a fan blowing.

Microsoft has a better online network, and achievements for ALL games, it also comes with the option to only get the 4 gig arcade model now, and thats a bargan because why do I need a 250 gig hard drive on my 360? Saves only take up megabits, and a 16 gig thumb drive to expand the memory is only $10. 360 Slim Arcade is a huge bargan.

I mean I have never filled up my 20 gig 360 hard-drive, and I have map packs for many games, and The Shivering Isles on it. I did take an old 8 gig hard drive I found recently to use to transfer my profile for when I visit a friend (because on 360 you can have two profiles logged onto the same console, and both get achievements), and to store old saves onto, but still 20 gigs was plenty.

I have both a PS3 and a 360, and to be honest I only play my PS3 for exclusives, Multiplatform games almost always play better on the 360, and used they are significantly cheaper. I can also use two accounts for two players, have a multi-game party... The whole 360 network is just a lot better then PSN.

The Madden gap didn't favour PS3 as pre-orders suggested.  The po chart is American but so is the football so that's not it.  Just a difference in walk-in sales % I guess.  1.01m in HD, and .15 on Low Def. consoles for the venerable franchise.  Makes sense to me.

Some signs of life in 360 SW and PS3 SW continues it's turnaround.  RDR PS3 > 360 for the first time in wk 13.  ME2 looks to pass ME in Oct. despite recent announcements and a lot of doom and gloom back in the spring.  PS3 only gamers are in for a treat.  Can BW make it look even better on PS?

Ubi have a second 'Dance' disc on the charts I see.  They must be ecstatic with AC2.  The PS3 version will also hit 4m this year.  That'll make 7 red titles over 4m when GT5 and UC2 hit the mark.

Thanks to Giggs but why is the PS3 YoY increase 35% higher in Am. than in EMEAA?  Seems odd.  Maybe money is less tight than elsewhere or is there leakage on the next hd upgrade as snfr said?  No sign or word on the 'White'.  One more week with 360 above 200k is probable with the EMEAA arcade release.  Very nice timing and spacing by M$ since the 'Black' upgrade.   They could have had a big spike with serious shortages.  Instead they have a trend and some momentum going into Sept.

I'll be pleasantly surprised if BenVTrigger's guesstimate on the Reach bundle is correct.  That's a MGS4 HW bump.  It does look good with two controllers and what should be a great game.  The online nos. will be interesting too.  Sony should seriously consider silver.

I agree the 360 does have a significant amount of cheaper timed exclusives. And I won't argue with your gaming preference but you did forget Yakuza 3, MAG, White Knight Chronicles, Mod Nation Racers, MLB The Show 2010, and 3d Dot Game Heroes. The point was since 2008 the general consensus PS3 has had the better exclusive lineup and it hasn't affected sales much.

Yes the hdmi version improved RROD but did not fix it completely.

You argue blu-ray doesn't matter because you can download movies, yet you talk about how you don't need space but the Dark Knight at 1080 16x9 is 11.1 GB.

Without any movies or music on my system I have filled over 200 gb on my PS3.

I won't argue that Live has the better integrated experience but I prefer the price of PSN over Live and I enjoy not listening to a dozen 12 year olds with mics.

Of all those that you listed only MAG has had any significant impact on the western market (where you "win" a console war).  As for you Live argument you'll find that all the mature adults also have mics and the fact that mute is universal so mute a jerk kid in one game mutes him in all games and the system that trys to limit you getting on the same server as people you don't like.

360 fans don't care for a bunch of miscellaneous exclusives, they only play the top tier high playercount games.  Why would you waste your time with second rate games when everyone you play with is going to be on Halo/COD?

It is very difficult to displace the popular games when the communities reach critical mass and self sustaining.  You'd have to do everything right and then some, and hope that the top dog messes it up so badly that fans go elsewhere.  From the looks of Reach, it seems like it will still be top dog for a long time.  COD...maybe not, but it will take a couple of bad sequels before another alternative pops up.  I doubt there will be anything on the PS3 as an exclusive that will offer an experience so much better that it is worth paying $399 to jump ship, especially when all their friends are going to be on Live.  MS designed Live with a lot of community features in mind, and that lets them leverage word of mouth and social psychology much more effectively than PSN.
