Why did IGN misspell his name over and over..?

The fact that NMH2 has a limited appeal to begin with and was released with barely a whisper of marketing attached to it on the same day that Mass Effect 2, M.A.G., and to a lesser extent Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom was also released may have something to do with its underperformance.
Sin & Punishment 2 was never going to sell well because, among other things, it's a rail-shooter, which means its success is going to be very limited (unless it has a huge name attached to it, which it didn't).
I'm not bashing either game, though. I think both of them are great.

Huh, that game hit 100k Japan-only? That's pretty good, actually.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Well in my opinoin, the original was not very good and that might have a lot to do with the poor sales of NMH2. I mean the original sold well so why didn't they come back for the sequel? Even the legs have been bad at discounted prices.
I don't expect mega sales for a rail shooter. But I was expecting better than it has received. Its almost like TV advertising had no impact.

S&P2 doesn't surprise me. I'm sure there's a lot of people (like myself) who'd like to own it but simply can't justify paying $50 for it.
At this point people expect so much more for the money.
S&P2 should have been a Wiiware title for $15 - and would have likely sold very well at that.

You might be right in that people who didn't enjoy the first were put off from getting the second, but I think Ubisoft's failure to acknowledge the game's existence hurt just as much if not more. I was reading more than a few comments from fans of the first game who didn't even know the second was out weeks after its release. Of course, there's no real exact answer to why games sell/don't sell, so it's possible we're both right.
| patjuan32 said: No the Director's thoughts were not interesting at all. He never stated that the reason people buy first person shooters are for the Multiplayer. It's too late to release a game like this with no multiplayer. Secondly, he states that the game should have been multiplatform, like that guarantees hits. It does not and many games multiplatform games have bombed, like Dark Void and Bionic Commando. Instead of looking for excuses, the director should have been thinking of ways to make the game better. There is a reason that this game was ignored. It's not because there are no gamers on the Wii. Call of Duty games do fine on the system. There is more logical reason than playing the blame game. I wonder will IGN do and Interview to see why Family Friendly games do not sell well on the HD systems. I know they will never do that. They like to propagate the myth that every game sells on the HD systems and third party games do not sell well on the Wii. |
People bought bioshock for multiplayer? pfahahahahahahaha.

Lack of marketing is a big factor. And if a company thinks a game will sell when people aren't aware of the game, they are fools.

Thanks for commenting to one specific detail in my post. Maybe I should have worded it differently for you but one of the complaints about Red Steel 2, which has already be mentioned in the thread is that it lacked a multiplayer. I do not know why people bought Bioshock? I know I would not h ave. That's me and my decision.

If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba

Bioshock wasn't multiplayer at first. Red Steel was. That is the difference. Same with Metroid Prime.
