The truth is 360 had huge failure rate, IMO 15% or more of that 40m is dead.

No one is denying that, but that article has no validity.
The 15% is possible. Normal failures aside, shit happens. The PS3 could also be that high. God knows how many consoles have broken from normal hardware failure. Lets not forget a lot of consoles got bricked from updates and even FFXIII. Sony doesn't cover those repairs.

haha people still believe that xbox 360 sold a lot because of RROD. It actually sold much less that it could have because of RROD. People who bought the 360 and had RROD either had theirs fixed for free by MS, or got a PS3, and few of them bought another 360. So actually RROD boosted a bit the PS3 sales and lowered the 360 sales. Why lowered? Because people who want to buy a new console were scared of RROD, like me. I didn't want to buy a 360 just because of the RROD problem. I did get the 360 and for me its the best console this generation. But I still haven't had the RROD problem, and I hope it stays that way.

Who wouldve known... alot of naysayers (including me as well to be honest) thought they would would flop with the first xbox...
When I saw it i thought it was just a big mother fucken shit compared to my beloved PS2... especially the controller... i bought it a year after the release, and it was pretty sweet! Considering it was their first time in the console business I thought they did ok with the first XBOX.
Skip to the next generation, they have actually skipped over former console kings Sony. I just cant believe they have sold over 40 million. Pretty impressive achievement.

Mine is working and it's beautifull (latest model).
I don't understand all the talk about failure, my PS3 died after playing 4 games, I rarely use it and it was out of warranty. I paid to fix it then I sell it. It's a good machine with good games, but I prefer the LIVE and nowdays games are all multiplat.

Yes quite the feat with 40 million. Happy with mine right now and will be adding to that with my Reach system. Also like to congratulate MS on the attach ratios of Xlive. Really have done a good job of pushing social online gaming to a large number of people... and making quite the profit off of it too. I sure do love my Xlive haha.
