Forums - Gaming - Will ME2 going to PS3 negatively impact ME3?

I don't think they'll gimp the PC/360 versions of ME3 to accommodate the PS3. Bioware has a huge PC and 360 fanbase and they risk losing those consumers permanently. After hundreds of hours I've invested in ME1 and ME2 on both 360 and PC. I'd never buy another Bioware game again if they compromised ME3.

It's not like Mass Effect 2 is going to get hugely affected by the lack of ME1... And without really playing the games, I'm guessing that the choices made in ME1 affected ME2, which in turn affects ME3.

I don't think there's going to be any harm done. At least there doesn't have to be unless BioWare makes it so which would be very lame. Which seems to be exactly what they're doing with Dragon Age 2 though.

But what if they delay the good 360 version for the PS3? GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR i r so anry >:O!

(Look a little like FF13?)

In a word, no.

Each ME game has to be designed where it can be enjoyed for people that didn't play the previous games.

/thread

ugh, why is it that whenever a game series hits another system, it is going to be negatively impacted?  This thread is just damage control, trying to negate the value of the game to ps3 owners and condemn the developer for opting out of exclusivity.

Fact of the matter is this is a good thing.  More sells means more effort will be given to subsequent sequels.  Mass Effect should be more than a 2 mil selling game, it is better than that, and I for one am excited for ps3 owners to have a chance to play it.

Honestly, I don't think it is all that necessary to play the first game anyway, the second game does a good job of breaking you into the story, and each game is pretty self contained, which is awesome.  I hate games that don't actually end (like halo 2 or WKC)

Lol, I was thinking the same thing.  Sony fans freaking out that FFXIII was worse because of 360 port, and now we have Xbox fans freaking out over a ME2 port.  I really don't think you have anything to worry about.  I'm sure Bioware is more concerned with ME3 than a ME2 port to PS3.  End of story.

Not really, but I'm expecting Bioshock PS3 like sales.

No, I don't believe that the ME 2 release on PS3 will negatively affect ME 3;  I actually think that it's actually positive in that it will let more people enjoy the game.

Even if ME 1 isn't being released on the PS3, there are many ways that you could incorporate the decisions you made in the first game on the PS3 version.  One good example is the one listed on the first page of this thread: an interactive flashback that acts as a game save editor, allowing you to create your own Shepard, as well as make the major decisions that occur in the first game (i.e., Feros, Noveria, Virmire, who you romanced, what you did during the ending, etc.).  That way PS3 players could get a summary of what occurred in ME 1 and get to make the major choices that affect ME 2 and ME 3.

So no, I don't think that the PS3 getting ME 2 is going to negatively affect ME 3.

It's probably going to be pulling in boat loads of GOTY awards right around the time the PS3 version is launched, so it might have better sales for people who only own PS3's and want to play last years GOTY.  Just a guess.

lol, wow!!! some people are really hurt that this game is now on the ps3.

Seriously...the game was never a 360 exclusive because EA published it. This has happened to many (so-called) ps3 'exclusives' ...

And no...i doubt it will impact ME3. Bioware will work something out.

ALSO SOME PEOPLE WHO PLAYED ME2 ON PC/360 NEVER PLAYED ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

far out...
