Started my Insanity run again and it's going much better this time; have Mordin and Jack recruited so far
I'm not planning on this being a perfect run so I'm only going for two loyalty missions for the two people I'm using in my team for the last mission and tips on who'd be best?

...You really should do all of them, for the experience and the upgrades.

Is there any real point though in leveling up all that much? The enemies scale to your level as far as I know

Powers give you advantages you wouldn't have otherwise, and the upgrades you can collect more than make up for the level scaling. Believe me, you want to do everything to be as powerful as possible.

Yeah I noticed how much the level scaling mattered when I was playing it with my level 28 character game felt impossible but when I tried with level 1 I was getting through a lot easier

I'm terrible at picking teams though, I always just went with my favourite characters before so every  team was Tali and Jack; now I feel like I should think more about who to use

It needs to be specialized according to what you're fighting. Going after the IFF is best handled by Grunt and Samara because they tear Husks to pieces. The final mission is handled best by Thane and Miranda because they both have Warp.

I'll keep that in mind, I'm going after Grunt now finding my ammo supply to be the hardest thing right now, keep seem to be running out; the game is far more challenging on insanity...far more challenging

Yes, it is. I play on nothing BUT Insanity, now.

What class are you playing?

Sounds...insane, I think after this I'll just stick to hardcore...maybe we'll see

I'm going through as a Soldier with Barrier as my added ability it's not great but it's saved my ass a couple of times

Soldier? Soldier be easy mode. Max out Adrenaline Rush as soon as you can, go with Hardened Adrenaline Rush. You will be set for life.
