2K Elizabeth on the Official Mafia II forums has this to say about the Final Build of the PS3 version of Mafia II:

"Hey guys,

When designing Mafia II, we optimized for each of the three different systems the game would run on to make sure the core experience was the best it could be. Because of this, there are some differences from one platform to the next. In terms of the PS3 version, I wanted to clarify a couple points you have been asking about: There will not be highly detailed grass or large pools of blood, the cloth movement is less noticeable than, for example, the PC version, and the visual fidelity in the demo is generally representative of what you’ll see in the full game. "

Our aim is to make a cohesive and immersive experience and optimize the game for each platform so that it could run its best. And while there are some differences between each version, I’m sure you’ll find that the core gameplay and the heart of Mafia II remains no matter whether you play on PS3, 360, or PC.

So here is what I think of this 2k...F UUUUUUU!!!! I'm so ticked off by this...are you friggin serious? How lazy and pathetic can a dev be? And they have the guts to actually say they 'optimized' the game for each platform...I say F U! I was really excited for this game since I LOVED the first one but now this is at best a rental but even that is slim chance. I don't care if you have to take your time to bring it to other platforms but if you're gonna go multi then better do a god damn good job at it, heck delay the ps3 version if you must. I know I'm not alone in this so you lost a lot of potential purchases because of this...

Mafia 2 on my PC, with detail at max, 1080p resolution, Physx effect enabled (looks amazing!)...and 3D enabled...

Runs at 40 fps on my machine.

i dont get why ppl dont makesmultiplat  games better on a console that has technological superiority. PC games should have better graphics than PS3 Games and PS3 games should be better than 360 games which look a hell of alot better than Wii games in graphical terms.

cost it will cost more money? why spend a million dollar extra just to get the grass better? 99% of the buyers wouldn't care about it..

I agree with NiKKoM Why would they want to spend millions more when most people will buy it either on xbox if they have one, or a ps3 one if they want it. Plus if Sony would have made a console that was easy to program for they wouldnt' have to spend. And yes the cell is a cool processor. But it's a lesser version of a cell and my computer's more powerful for it anyways. So they're costing devs million of dollars to get a tiny amount of performance increase. at the start I wondered why devs were annoyed with it and now I understand

the ps3 is my favorite console btw. Because it has the best games of any console this gen imo... and the best version of FFXIII.

but most the engines like unreal and stuff... were made for pc/xbox 360. Now, is sony going to keep the same ps3 architecture for the ps4. Or are they going to once again change it to be difficult

 Multiplate's not Square Enix because of Crystal tools. Are going to be worse graphically for the most part. That's been the way since the start. most of the time just like this.
