I know there is XB Arcade and and PSN (props to geometry wars) but does Sony or MS bring back the arcades in any way apart from FPS? CoD, Halo and whatever Sony's version is get plenty of marketing and development budget spent on them but where does the rest go? Give Sony their dues, they gave LBP a push but Little Big Planet is a good example of why trying to squeeze a compuuter game into an arcade game fails to achieve it's potential sales.
Obviously the fighter never really went away, it just got old and stale to the point where there was no need for the newer version ie Tekken. Hopefully Mortal Kombat hasn't completely flatlined and they go back to arcade values.
But where is the rest of the money being spent? RPGs, story games like Heavy Rain, Milo, RPGs and JRPGs. Where are the games where I can spend 20 minutes or 20 hours like Mario Kart, SMB, Tetris, Pong, Wii Sports, CoD, Halo, Tekken.
