True we cant determine for sure since theres more factors to it, still, the attach rate and software sales for fiscal year 2009 is higher on PS3. So even if we could use that to determine install base, it wouldnt necessarily gives 360 as the answer.

Oh ok you're right. I must be imagining things then when every person I know owns a 360 and I can count on one hand how many people own a PS3. Its time for you to buy a calendar and realize this isn't 1999 when Sony dominated. The 360 has sold more consoles, has a bigger install base, and is annihilating the PS3 in USA and will continue to do so. In the others region its a heated battle. Sony has Japan and always will.

Its stupid to use your own experience to judge the overall rates of anything. I really hope you are 13 or so or that you never attended college. Most of the people I know suprisingly own both equally does that mean Americans own the 360 and PS3 equally, Hell no.

Actually I'm 29 and attending college for a Computer Graphics Technology major. Before you try to assume that I don't know what I'm talking about and using my own personal experiences as an example is worthless you might want to polish up your grammar skills. It is a fact that the 360 has sold many more consoles in the USA which is exactly what I just said in my post. Hence I live in the USA therefore I know many more people who own a 360 compared to a PS3.

Wow I don't know what to say, 29 and still acting like a company represents you. I am not debating whether the 360 has sold more here, I don't care so much as your logic of using ones own experience to say something is true is very faulty. Also under your reasoning you make it sound as if you know every person in America.

Kind of a no brainer that the potential install base is larger on the X360.  There is roughly 5 million more X360`s out in the wild than their are PS3`s so you do the math.



 How our favorite systems are just like humans and sometimes have issues finding their special someone...

Xbox 360 wants to Kinect &  PS3 wants to Move!  Why are both systems having such relationship problems?  The reason is they both become so infactuated with desire while watching the Wii as it waggles on by. They simply want what they can't have.

Oh wait.. some people have gotten their ps3 with their HDTV. Count those 2 together and now we know that 99% of the people who bought ps3 did not buy it for the games. Right? :O

Actually it's roughly 3 million, I don't trust VG numbers I think they have more 360s sold then are actually sold or are severely under tracking ps3 and the 360 has roughly 14 million potentially more broken and not in use consoles
