Forums - General Discussion - Favourite Sci-Fi Shows?

My hands-down favourites:
Star Trek Voyager
Stargate SG-1
Star Trek Deep Space Nine
Stargate Atlantis
Battlestar Galactica (2003)

Not quite as good as the first list, but I still watched them through to completion and enjoyed them a lot:
Stargate Universe
Star Trek Enterprise
Star Trek The Next Generation
Farscape
Firefly
Legend of the Galactic Heroes (thanks for recommending this to me Naz!)

Excellent at the time, when I was a kid, but when I go back and watch them I struggle to enjoy them anywhere near as much:
Red Dwarf
Quantum Leap
X-Files

I mainly find these to be a bit crappy, but I’ll watch them because I love sci-fi and I’ve exhausted all of the shows I love:
V (2009)
Babylon 5
Andromeda
Sliders
The Prisoner
Logan’s Run

That’s about it I think. Not enough good sci-fi :(

Macross Zero/Frontier/Plus are all good.

My favorite

Firefly

Eureka

Warehouse 13 (just started)

Doctor Who (2005 relaunch)

Going to start Star Trek soon

The Twilight Zone, its the end all be all.

Star Trek

LOST

Fringe (need to watch season 2)

Battlestar Galactica (need to finish season 1)

Heroes (seasons 1 and 2 only)

Sanctuary is an interesting show as well. I missed an episode of FlashForward and need to catch it on DVD. I've heard good things about the Stargates also.

EDIT: @Machina: You're probably the only person I've seen that thinks DS9 and Voyager are better shows than TNG.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

I don't really know of that show can be considered sci-fi. Most of it's episodes dealt with supernatural stuff (ghosts etc.) rather than aliens.

"I don't understand how someone could like Tolstoy and Dostoyevsky, but not like Twilight!!!"

"Last book I read was Brokeback Mountain, I just don't have the patience for them unless it's softcore porn."

(The Voice of a Generation and Seece)

DS9 frequently beats TNG in polls of Trek fans. Voyager is much less popular but it's my personal favourite ;)

Surely it's more surprising that I prefer ENT to TNG? :P

I almost forgot about LOST and Heroes!

I liked all the Trek series, TNG is my personal fave though, its what got me into the franchise in the first place

alot of people dont seem to like Voyager, but I thought it was pretty good all in all

Enterprise was hit and miss for me, some episodes were very good, others were cringeworthy, the Xindi arc was probably my favourite part of the show, they did that really well imo.

Yeah, the entire Xindi arc was absolutely fantastic. Without that ENT would've been really mediocre for me.

Most favourite:
Star Trek
Star Trek: The Next Generation
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
Raumpatrouille Orion
Space: 1999
Cowboy Bebop
Futurama
Captain Future
The Invisible Man (the one from 1975/76 with David McCallum)
Time Tunnel

Most hated: Earth 2, seaQuest DSV

I still haven't seen the new Battlestar Galactica series (which isn't really new anymore as it already ended 2 years ago).
