lol thats cool n all but I had enough trouble trying to complete it after being maxed out! Especially on the last boss when the black tail kept poisoning my characters and his mega attack that took away like 8K HP from me!

I think the attack power of that attack deppends on your characters' HP. If you have 3000 HP(your max HP), that attack won't do more than 3000 HP damage, just high enough to leave you with low health (maybe 2500-2900 damage). If you have 20.000HP max, it will probably do like 18.000-19.000 damage. Or at least that's what I noticed when I went back there to fight the final boss again after I had gotten the platinum trophy and my characters were maxed out. That attack was doing like more than 15.000 damage to my characters... when the first time I went there it wouldn't be higher than 6000 because my characters had like 6500-8000 HP the first time :P

Yeah, Mericless Judgment is gravity based.
I don't remember any attack from the final boss being powerful enough to kill you under Mediguard.
|
The first time I fought him, he killed my leader with an instant death attack... It wasn't the Death magic though... just an attack that probably had a specific percentage to inflict death to my characters. Don't remember what it was called :S. But I think that attack and doom were the only ones that can kill you under Mediguard. I mean, if Merciless judgement can't kill you when you're not on low HP and NOT using Mediguard... what could possibly kill you if you ARE using Mediguard? :P

OMG the death magic was so unfair! I am certain the devs didn't realize the final boss could use death magic on your main character!
|
Lol :P They should know it since they programmed the game so that the Final Boss does that.
I remember I was about to equip one of those "death resistance 30%" accessories after that happened. But I was like "meh, whatever" and went back to the fight again without equipping it and survived xD
Oh, and when I got to the "real" final boss and started fighting him (trying not to spoil anyone :P) I was like "Oh, crap" after his first attack and when I started attacking him I was like "...What?"... tried with magic and I was like "O_o?", then tried with status ailments and I was like "Pheww, these seem to work" and then I realized that I had to stagger him xD. I didn't think it would be so easy to earn a 5 stars rank on that fight =P

It's called Prognetorial Wrath (sp?).
Anyway, considering you could retry from the beginning of the fight makes it not so bad. It missed twice when he casted it on me twice.
Necron and Zeromus were much bigger bastards. Necron using Grand Cross to cause any of the two dozen plus status ailments in the game (of which only like 5 or 6 can be guarded) and Zeromus dispelling every singe status on himself and the whole party and then using Big Bang which hurts a lot. Like a lot. Kills everyone half the time a lot.

Aaah, I always forget attack names :P the only way I remember them is when I fight the same enemy over and over again.
Yeah, it's not like other Final Fantasy games where you have to start all over again from the first form of the final boss if you lose in one of it's phases :P
I don't know about Zeromus because I haven't played that Final Fantasy (are you talking about IV?) But I don't remember Necron being hard, I think I beat him in my first try without much trouble. By the way, I felt Necron's appearance was kind of... random :P
EDIT: In fact, I don't remember any final boss in a Final Fantasy game (from the ones I've played) that's ever made me say "OMG, this final boss is so hard I'll never beat him :S".
