For those of you drawn to Rage, the next eye-popping title from developer id Software, we have some important news: the post-apocalyptic shooter will be hitting store shelves on September 13th, 2011 in the United States and September 15th, 2011 in Europe. The date was announced during this year's Quakecon -- much to our surprise, as videogame release dates are usually not announced this far in advance.

Tim Willits, Rage's creative director, commented: "We are going to have the biggest, coolest, most badass launch." No other details were given regarding this launch, so we can only assume that the event will feature giant mutant hybrids and free jetpacks for all. Or not.
