Because GFWL can't even be called "copetition" it's so pathetic and shitty. The sooner it gets out of PC gamig the better it is going to get.

That's some crazy talk... not 3 years ago Steam was a barren waste land with Valve games and some other bullshit... GFWL just this year became a stand alone service and not just a background service and just because something runs on GFWL doesn't mean it can't be sold through steam as you see with Fallout 3

Difference is that Steam got better and already had a core fanbase of players playing Counterstrike: Source and Half-Life 2. Steam's growth and improvement was based on the foundations laid by Valve and those fans. GFWL hasn't improved and doesn't have any of those foundations.
In fact, the foundations are terrible as they even tried to charge gamers for the service, there are very few games on the service and those that are on there tend to be problematic. Even if MS start listening to users like Valve did, it'll be a long and tricky path for them before PC Gamers are willing to accept GFWL as a competitor to Steam. And if the customers aren't biting, neither are third-party devs.
As for the point on Fallout 3, I think most users would see that as more of a pain as you then have to deal with 2 different services and it gets very confusing. I get the feeling many users (arguably unfairly) blame MS and Bethesda for forcing extra hassle by incorporating GFWL on top of Steam etc.
