You're smart. I know you are. But watch some replays of the pros man. That quote is just so...ignorant.

Everytime I play it's rush one or two guys out, scout evrything, disrupt economy, divert attention, harass. Prevent expansion, if he comes to kill my army that is containing his expansion, hit his min line from the side. There are just so many more options now. Each race has at least 3 ways of hitting the side of a base. Air assault, guys that ignore terrain levels, and transports. Each race has bunker busting capability. Banelings, Siege Tanks, Immortals. It's more like WC3 in MP. You only need a few units to win the game.

And there are still so many strategies. The Vatic build, DT rush, 4-gate, Iron wall, gold rush, proxy pylon rush, 9-rax reaper build, fenix(or is it phoenix?) build, and 3 yomi versions of each of these.


That is a simplificatoin, but compared to SC1, that is basically what you do in SC2. I haven't even finished my placement matches yet in retail but back in beta i was in the old gold, now plat, league so yes, I know somewhat about SC2's multiplayer.

plat in the first week. It's going to take a lot longer before bnet sorts what plat really is.

But anyways, we should play a game. I'd love to see how a bronze does against a plat :P

Not sure if it is, unless one is hardcore into RTS.  Even then, there are plenty of RTS games out there worth getting, that do run on older rigs.  I consider the Warlords: Battlecry series particularly good, for example.

Same. If they insist on retaining this battle.net 2.0 structure then they will screw up Diablo III's online as well :(

p.s. @OP - I did actually buy a new PC for the StarCraft 2 Beta (let alone the actual game...). I don't regret buying a new PC because I needed a new one anyway, but if I hadn't needed one then I would seriously be regretting it right now.

I don't see how Battle.net 2.0 would screw DIII since there's no custom maps in Diablo. Chat rooms are not really useful in Diablo either maybe for discussing character builds but I'd rather go on a forum for that. The only thing I could see being problematic in DIII would be the lack of cross-region play but they'll be adding that in Battle.net 2.0 soon (or so I've heard)

Yeah, whatever. D3 looks fucking amazing.

But yu know people are gunna flip their shit about the blood orbs that you can pick up.

If I can't play things like Smash TV, Zone Control, and Tower Defense I want my money back.  I put as much time into SC1 as anyone and I hardly even played normal MP, just the crazy custom games.

They'll all be back eventually. They're just trying to keep out all the f***s that edit maps to give them an advantage.

Wow, the complaining is really getting old for SC2.  As for buying a new computer, if you are unable to play it at the moment, it is a marvelous game and it is defiantly worth getting a newer computer to play it on, however, do not get that $949 computer that a link provided you to.  That doesn't even have the intel i series processors.  On Hp, you can get a core i5 with 1gb graphics card and 6gb memory for about the same price.

 

As for the complainers, please tell me you have went back to SC1 because it is sooooo much better.  I highly doubt you have, because deep down inside, you actually do enjoy the new one better and are just a bunch of whiners.

If you liked the original BW for what it was, SC2 will dissapoint you.

If you thought BW was too hard, you will like SC2.

I still play BW regularly. SC2 is getting more gaming time at the moment because it's new, but I will most likely keep playing BW longer, becasue its a better game.

I haven't played the multiplayer portion since sometime in early/mid June. I haven't booted up the retail version since I finished the single-player on Hard 2 days after I got it. I have in fact booted up BW more than SC2 since the 27th, which is not much since I have only started up SC2 a few times.
