I thought it was a solid 8.5.

Good engine, if actually somewhat wasted on the final game due to the shift away from open world during development.

The gameplay was fine just a little too repetitive at time and the mood was a little too Western thriller (despite Remedy clearly trying to channel Twin Peaks) and not genuinely wierd enough (a'la Silent Hill or Twin Peaks) for my liking.

But it had a decent story and was solid in every area with some particularly nice lighting effects.

I wouldn't mind a sequel, but I'd prefer if they went for the Silent Hill 2 level of horror vibe.

I didn't say anything about Selnor outside of the obvious, which is that he loved the game, something he has admitted to many times. My feelings of the game shouldn't hurt his feelings of the game, I was just saying that the game should be able to rely on it's own merits if its as good as he says and that he should ignore the overly negative guy who's posting against him for attention. 

The flaws in the game aren't based on my opinion, it's based on practical game design, it's still a fantastic game, but it does have it's flaws and that's ok. It's up to everyone else to choose to ignore or accept them, I obviously see them for what they are, annoyances that hurt my experience. 

while from a gameplay perspective there was a few things that need to fixed in the sequel, such as the filler segments you mentioned, the game as a whole is phenominal and I have no idea what your even talking about.  Wii graphics?  What?

Anyways the story alone is incredible and justifies a 9 / 10 in my opinion.  If the second one fixes those few gameplay annoyances the next one may be my favorite game released this gen.

Most definitly over hyped it was crazy, there were threads like "OMG GOTY!" and ppl were so taunting/predicting it's was gonna be the bomb 90 AAA sells X ammount first week etc.

Doubt remedy will even recoup the budget for this game, 5years in the making PC version being developed then canned later down the development and won't even break a mil unless bundled.

Just got it and only finished episode one. I find it does use to many videos. To say theat the graphics looks like the wii would only come from someone trying to annoy people because it is the best looking 360 game I have played. I should respond when I beat the game, but it is a worthy title from Microsoft.

Excuse me? Go find a thread saying it's going to have the best graphics ever, then go find my review.

not disappointed with the graphics at all.. they are some of the most atmospheric.

only disappointment for me is that alan controls like niko bellic..
