Forums - General - Girl quits her job on dry erase board, emails entire office, hilarity ensues

I'm not arguing whether it's fake or not. It very well could be a hoax. I was only arguing that a real employee could easily do such a thing and walk away without being sued for the email.

Well I'm just explaining why I said what I said.
Thank you for informing me of the legal stuff.

I tried an avenue of reasoning that would be more credible given my current knowledge of law and hiring practice. I should have just pointed out how far too polished the set, pictures, lighting, and storyboarding was but honestly I didn't expect for a minute that you would listen. So, I failed at trying to convince you properly.

But I will win when the truth comes out tomorrow.

@kasz: I thought that had been changed a few years back but I could be mistaken. I was basing that one from a vague memory of something I read a couple of years ago.

You were right, but that's still a cool way to quit a job.

Farmville may be the most mind-numbing site he can visit since there may be blocks on places with certain content (pr0n, sports, etc.).

The one bad thing for this woman, if this were true (which we have now learned it is not), is that she would have spent the last two years of her life at a job from which she will not be able to get a reference.  And given the potential viral nature of this posting, her act may be known by her future employer.  Thus, if real, the vengeance may be the old "cutting your nose off to spite your face." Meanwhile, Spencer continues to be the lazy, sexist boss making the most money in the office.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

It's a stupid way to quit a job. And it really only works in an office job. You burn your bridges when you do stuff like this. Ok fine so you won't be in any legal trouble or anything, but you will be known far and wide, ad you will have just wasted two years of experience.

Any type of retail work, there are so much better, funnier ways to quit, my mind recalling a scene from half-baked. Retail sucks. You don't need their reference. Just say you were in school. That's what I've always done.

Again, given the nature of being fake, it's just not that funny. The humor lies in her exposing a villainous boss (who doesn't even exist). There aren't any other jokes in it either.

TheProf00 adlibs a reaction. Sarcasm ensues. "Your bad breath"! Ohh SNAP! "HPOA" Ohh MAN he totally went there! "Garbage DiSPENCER" OMGROFLOLWTFBBQ SHE JUST MADE A PUN ON A WORD THAT DOESN't EXIST!!!!!!

Those would have been good if it was real, because she's insulting someone of higher authority, a taboo in our culture, but one everyone wishes they could have the balls to do. But without the taboo. It's just words on a dry erase board. Only thing interesting left is her HPOA

I think what she did was hilarious. The guy that lost his camera was hilarious also.

There you go again with your stupid logic Captain Yawn.

I agree though that it's not very funny now that it's I know it's not real. You're right about her not being witty at all, or saying any real jokes. I should've realised this thing was 100% false when the coup de grace in the guy's Internet history was FarmVille. Seriosuly! Guys watch porn at the office, don't they?
