Has not changed my vote and I still have a very, very, very bitter taste in my mouth from the Bush era. So hell no he should be fine. I'm pretty sure I can't be the only one. Also the youth vote leans towards liberals and the aged voters who favor conservatives keep dying more and more each year.

Actually people under 30 are liberal and then when they grow up and have to make tough decisions they become more conservative.

Liberals just don't want to perceived as bad so they take the easy way out

Actually this is just an ideal people tell themselves. People from urban areas are more liberal and rural areas are more conservative as you probably know. The population growth in America is in urban regions while populations are falling in rural areas. So most of the young come from areas were being a liberal is dominant. If it was true that young liberals always become older Republicans than there would never be a Democrat in office. Why, because young people hardly vote and elderly people vote the most. So if young people all converted to conservative Clinton and Obama would never have been voted in and thats just using logic.

I was making a silly comment to counter the republicans are all dieing comment.

The republican party has been around for years they are not all assuming room temperature.

There has been more republican pres. then democrat.

My theory is people don't want the government to control everything. That is to much power to wield

Pres Obama approval is dropping and he can't blame the last pres anymore he has to stand on his own now. And his job has been abysmal. Surrounding himself with america hating people. He is just as bad as Bush but in a different way.

Certainly has been more Republican Presidents and I would never say they are all bad. I am actually one of the many who votes for the lesser of two evil in my mind.

Democrats do take controlling everything a little to far, I would be very upset if he has or will do anything about gun control. I personally like what he did with healthcare as I am a college student who like many of my peers hve not had health insurance for years so I believe wht he did with that was not enough. Its easy to say that that kind of of change is bad when a person has had it for a long time (I am not saying thats you).

Also I am not awre of who is an America hater that he works with I would be interested in you enlightening me on the subject.

I always thought the way it went was that young people are generally more liberal but by the time they are old the same ideas they had as youth are considered more conservative.

That's just a stereotype.  Actually between '97-'00 41% of people 65 Identified as democrat while 50% of democrats surveyed as liberal.  These are old numbers and political landscapes do change over time (in '77 51% of the public identified as Democrat) but they're not that old, and they debunk that old myth that "once they're out of their college experimental phase they'll get more conservative" charade.

I think with the Gulf Oil spill disappearing into history, and if the Iraq pull out works for them next year things will go up for him. Afghanistan is still a millstone around his neck and that needs to be gone by the time campaigning starts in 2012.

Domesitcally, if the ecomony can be on an upswing, and unemployment tracking downwards if people are starting to feel good about life then Obama and the Democrats (if they hold on to the House ans sentate this year) will have what should be an ideal domestic agenda campaigning platform: We inherited a disaster from the incompetent Republicans and turned it around". But because there's more than just America suffering under the ongoing economic doldrums it's by no means certain that the American economy will be doing well enough for it to be working in the Democrat's favour.

Like Bill Clinton said: it's the economy stupid.

Nothing is turned around in fact President Obamas stimulis is pushing the country further into debt and dispair. The Govt can not rescue the country the american people can. But the gov't imposes taxes and industry standards the will hinder growth.  No if this goes on like the this the gov't will be our nanny and have total control of our lives.  Dems and repubs ugh we need more independant people to run
