Wii got Monster Hunter 3 and black edition of console last year this week and DS was still riding the succes of Dragon Quest IX.

Yes but the PS3 sales in Japan slumped heavily during July and August, getting as low as an incredible 1900 by the end of August.

not sure why you mention the Wii and DS in this regard.
