That's pretty much what Sony should have done, or atleast put a download voucher for a digital version with new UMD releases. But I guess someone at Sony thought this was a bad idea.

LOL. While a general UMD -> Digital process seems ok, you don't see any problems with selling a UMD and a digital voucher together?
So, just to clarify you're wanting Sony to give 2 copies of the game away for the same price as 1? If not, you're recommending charging double for it? If someone wanted the UMD by itself, why even have the voucher? If someone wanted the digital version and you're suggesting give them a voucher redeemable on the PSN, wouldn't they have just bought the digital version from the PSN itself?
If someone wants a cheaper digital version than what is on the PSN, retailers can just sell discounted vouchers or online game codes. I know vouchers exist (granted, not for every game) but I rarely see them on discount like UMDs.
I will agree that Sony dropped the ball by not forcing publishers to put all games on the PSN or at least having a better selection, but you can't really think that Sony would give you 2 games for the price of one (which people could then go right back and resell the UMD and get the digital version for super cheap) or to set up the massive amount of infrastructure needed to do any kind of "mail us your UMD we give you a voucher" type of process can you?
I'm not being an a-hole or anything I'm just asking would you honestly expect Sony to implement a UMD Digital voucher solution and would you expect anyone to buy it?
If its UMD only, I'll get it for psp 3000... its not like I am going to throw away my other psp.
Also soriku I got $80 worth of video games.. so basically it's like I bought an overpriced 16gb MEMORY STICK!

What a ripoff
PSP:$149.99
GOW:$19.82
Ratchet:$19.31
LBP:$19.96
While you may have saved $10 your games have no resale value. I cant deny it is shaped different. I cant believe how many people dont care for actually owning their games. To me PSP download games are worth no more than $5 as are most DD games. I AM guilty of that though, I play Dawn of War 2($80 for "content liscensing" though I didnt realise it at the time) , Valve games(probably another $200 worth of DD) and dozens of Steam games(all less than $3 a piece), so I really shouldnt hate. Either way, I really want a 2 or 3k PSP but have a giant PC game backlog so have fun with yours!
Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.
Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

When you buy a game on disc you are also owning only the license, there is just no real way to enforce that so they don't. As for "owning" it, I do own all of the PSP games I've downloaded as I never need to connect to the PSN again ever once I've activated my PSP and downloaded the game. The PSN can go down or I can pick up my PSP 50 years later and play if I want to. It's not like I have to connect to the PSN any time I want to play.
Yes, it's true, if I ever delete my game and the PSN no longer exists or has other DRM issues, my game is gone but you can say the same thing about discs and breaking, etc. etc.
Sure, I can't resell my license (yet) as I can with a disc, but, for *ME*, since I rarely resell my games, I get more value holding onto my games and potentially replaying them later than the $5 gamestop will give me for it.
Different strokes for different folks obviously :)

It's Socom FTB3 not GoW unless it's changed.
Well it's your opinion, it's actually $20 $20 and $40 so it's $80 worth of free games

They give digital vouchers for movies now don't they? I don't see what the problem would be, sure charge a bit more for a UMD/Digital release and get both like Hollywood does, but it works with movies why wouldn't it work with games? And I could be wrong but when they announced the Go didn't they say all new games would have digital releases? Can be wrong on that one. And I for one would buy them, why not? I like owning physical copies of games, and I wouldn't mind having the UMD collect dust while getting a digital copy to use. But that's me and there is a bit of a difference with movies.
