Vegetable- yank the plug.

Coma- give them a grace period of a few years.

agreed

Except Doctors are human and could be wrong as well as if its your Mother/Father/Spouse/Child laying there you'll probably be far less quick to make that decision.

Nope I'd probably decide even faster

We could use them as stunt men, crash test dummies, test medication on them, use them as living decorations, use them to ride in the car pool lanes, use them as dates for ugly people, scarecrows, etc.  There's a million uses for people in a vegitative state.  Pulling the plug would be such a waste.  Also, I'm going to hell.

Sorry man, that's too disgusting to be funny.

Well it put a smile on my face.

With that being said a vegie should get the plaug pulled on them. Someone in a coma should be kept alive

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

If the only way to keep a person alive is with the help of machines i find it unethical ans immoral to keep them alive

I think this kind of things should be spoken by the pacient itself way before having an accident or in the vegetable state.

I have spoken this to my relatives and i have told them to unplug me in case something like this happens, also in case of kidnapping, i told them to try to rescue me instead of paying for my freedom.

I think if you see people in that state "without any decision taken before", it may be actually their fault, i know those cases can be hard to solve, but i would unplug them after a shot time to recover themselves.

You may find a mirror trying to find the other side of the world

I have a few points of views on this issue.

1) As a non-religious person there isn't really that much of a problem to me of keeping a vegetative person 'alive'. They're already actually dead as far as I'm concerned, no consciousness means no suffering for them doesn't it? Religious people will have more problems due to soul issues.

2) Doctors still miss a few 'locked in' people. That's always a huge worry. The tech needed to spot them is getting much much more reliable though.

3) Keeping all vegetative people alive would be damned costly

I can't and don't speak for others. But if I become a veggie, I'd like to be disposed of.
