Forums - Gaming - I have something to admit...

I found an article with some of Pachter's predictions:

http://russrenshaw.newsvine.com/_news/2007/08/11/891513-how-pachters-predictions-stand-up

I count two contradictory ones (obviously one has to be right), two wrong ones ("PS3 will win because of Blu-Ray" being one of them), and three correct ones (two about price cuts and one that GTA4 would be delayed).

And we all know how the Wii HD one turned out after he kept talking about it for 3 or 4 years...

Pachter is an obvious shill for the major publishers.  That is really all you need to know about where his predictions come from.

It doesn't matter if his predictions are all wrong or right.... they're predictions and his not hurting anyone with em... the point is his a nice guy overall and his really into the video game industry... yeah he says some wierd things sometimes but thats his thing. His not doing anything bad really.

Do you expect all his predictions to be right? No, does he have to be right, kinda but you know what? That only affects him because that's his career... watch some of his shows on Patch-Attack... his not a jerk or anything... although sometimes he does talk smack on fanboys and pc gamers but they do kinda deserve it.

All gaming systems, consoles/PC, have thier perks... why fight over preferences? I like Coke and you like Pepsi, that's it, let's not fight over which toy we like best cause that's what they are. Is someone's preference in a toy important or is the relationship between you and your neighbor more important? Answer is obvious, but THE most important thing is your relationship with God almighty. God Bless you in Jesus's name.

I can communicate without talking... I can send a loved one money without actually sending money... and I can commit theft without the product disappearing, the point of theft is the point of theft not one of it's possible symptoms which is the product dissappearing. The thief wants to gain something without paying for it, that's the point of theft, the thief doesn't have to care or anybody else has to care if the product dissappears. The product dissappearing is just a possible symptom of theft. Gifts are sacrfices, in order to give a gift, it has to be a genuine sacrfice/gift, meaning a copy of the game isn't still in your PC. Piracy is theft and/or being a culprit of theft.

Anonymous forum dwellers making predictions like you or me don't hurt anything.  Well known analysts can actually affect the market with what they say.

There are not many video game industry analysts.

Really? Well even then I still don't understand why he deserves so much hate. As far as he hasn't hurt a fly... or does he do something bad? If so, tell me about it.

I absolutely love Patcher! My appreciation for him started long before his show on Gametrailers but after watching Pach-Attack it's so obvious that he's a lovable guy. Professional, smart, funny and has a warm heart.

Which is why I think that the people who hate on Pachter just aren't very nice people.
