Forums - Gaming - Bethesda campaign for Fallout New Vegas in Japan

My, my. I wonder if they are talking about "certain" game.

Translation:

Says one, "A game where you just follow the scenario is like living life on rails."

Another: "What's the point of playing again if there's no change to the story."

The girl to the left: "When did games become something that you watch?"

The tall one in back: "I think it would be nice if the main character had a mission aside from just wiping out evil."

Suggests the one sitting in front: ""The world has been prepared. After that, you're free to do as you please!"

Bethesda has the answer for these disgruntled RPG fans:

I don't think it's going to work ... but they try.

Pathetic if you ask me,  all that they will manage to do is alienate FF fans... and thats not a good thing in Japan This is a low one Bethesda, and I hope that this game will bomb in Japan

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

Not a bad campaign. Everything there is what people in japan were complaining about

Hahah i know Jrpg fans are gonna be pissed

its been confirmed today that GT5 has a weather system, track editor and go karts! seriously i think this is going to be the best selling in the series even beating GT3 sales of 14 million plus!

Its a good attack ad. Will definitely get New vegas a lot of attention.

Japan actually has a WRPG fanbase, its just that Japan itself isn't as huge and as populated as USA, also most actual fans of WRPGs are actually not from USA (except for Fallout maybe since its very close to shooters)

I live for the burn...and the sting of pleasure...
I live for the sword, the steel, and the gun...

- Wasteland - The Mission.

eh not a good look.

very nice good one bethesada.

Eh, not sure how that's going to work in gettting fans from JRPG's really, because generally (even if you count the higher dislike for FFXIII in Japan)... they're attacking the previous structure as well.

It will work for fans that already like WRPG's but they'd probably buy it anyways (though fallout 3, is not really in the top tier of WRPG's or close)... but insulting what they like doesn't generally get people to love you. (though sometimes it does). Bad Campaign in my opinion. But I don't like campaigns that take jabs at other games. It's stupid. As I love both JRPG's WRPG's and FFXIII, but not fallout 3 :P

as long as it starts a bit of controversy (as it is doing) this campaign is a win.
