move complete ownage

Kinect has more 3rd party support so far though, and for full priced retail games Kinect is competitive too.  Move killing it in numbers is due chiefly to (1) Sony's overwhelming support and (2) tons of PSN games and retrofits.  If you look at just 3rd party, or just retail, it's basically even numbers wise.

If you think kinect has more 3rd party support, take another look at the list, ps3 has a ton more 3rd party games for move

Eh... I looked at the list, try actually counting them up.  For full retail releases, Kinect has more 3rd party games.

Move has 21 kinect has 17, I think you should count again

I counted.  Kinect has 21 (not including Harry Potter, which isn't confirmed), and Move has 18.  Move jumps to 21 if we include PSN games too.

Where are you getting 17 Kinect?

I think you are counting the MS owned studios that are working on kinect games as 3rd party, and I was counting all 3rd party games that support move

No, if I counted MS owned studios that'd be 28 games.  Count again.

I would have to say MOVE since there are still serious doubts if those Kinect will even control and respond properly.

You're right. Kinect is a huge improvement, and probably does have more potential. That being said, nothing from E3 points to this "potential" other than Dance Central, and even that isn't that amazing.

Just so you know, potential means it actually can do more. Hence, it does major things the Eyetoy can't.

For example, I don't see any driving games on Eyetoy that let you drive with your hands. The best I saw on Eyetoy was Antigrav but that was more like a blanancing act. Obviously that wouldn't work for most racers.

Kinect Adventures lets you move a model, Eyetoy generally just lets you stare at your self and touch things.

Eyepet is something that could have more potential on the Kinect because you would be able to actually grab and strangle the pet. Which is what we hope for in Kinectimals.

The only Eyetoy dancing I've seen involved you staring at yourself touching areas of the screen. For the record, most people don't like looking at themselves.

We haven't seen many Kinect games yet. But I'm more intrigued by the little Kinect software we've seen so far than all the Eyetoy games combined.

Ok I'll go down the list

1. From Dictionary.com Potential - capable of being or becoming: a potential danger to safety.
2. Are you talking about the game Joy Ride that can't control it's speed? Or atleast, thats what I've heard.
3. I don't know exactly what you mean by moving models. I'm pretty sure the EyeToy can let you move a model also.
4. EyePet does have more potential on Kinect because of Kinect's better tracking and depth, yes. But as you can see from this video here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uFbB1W9t0KY Kinectimals does not seem that far ahead in technology.
5. PS Eye probably couldn't do Dance Central in it's current form, but it's been said there might be a port of Dance Central using the Move.
6. The curiousity happens with almost all new technology. Only time will tell if Microsoft finds a worthwhile game to use it for (other than Dance Central).

1. Well the Kinect can do much more than the Eyetoy. But it has the potential to do a lot more than we've seen so far. And yes, that could danger us all.

2. I believe the speed is controlled by how far apart your hands are. Atleast that's what I've heard and read about racing games on the Kinect.

3. The models on Kinect track your exact movement. I've seen nothing like that on the Eyetoy. If it could, I think we would have seen it by now. Or perhaps it just can't do it nearly as well.

4. Kinectimals seems like a simple game so far. Perhaps its not the best example of the Kinect's capabilities. All I can really say is the Kinect can do everything we've seen on Eyepet. I doubt Kinectimals would be the same experience on the Eyetoy. If you watch this video, you'll see what I mean. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFIQ4NPf7ys

5. The Move only tracks your hands. It wouldn't be the same experience. And you would still have to hold those controllers. The great thing about the Kinect is you don't use any controllers.

6. Well party games have been all the rage on the Wii. The Kinect has the potential to breath new life in that genre and there is plenty of that coming.

I agree with most of your post. My argument isn't really EyeToy vs Kinect, it's more of Move vs Kinect. Kinect is of a much higher quality than EyeToy. I would explain what I think about each of your points, but I don't want this any longer than it has to be. My opinion is that Kinect can become something great, but we haven't any evidence at the moment that it will be based on the lineup.

Well what kind of game would make the Kinect impress you? Its intended to appeal to casual userbase so they are making casual games. The Move was supposed to appeal to a core audience but its mostly just getting casual games and adding support for games that play fine on a joystick.

The Kinect is full body motion tracking and allows certain games to be more immersive than ever. Granted you can apply the Wiimote and Move to more genres we generally play. But I'm interested in what new things will come from the Kinect, while you are just focusing on its limitations.

I do like Dance Central, but that's about it. I don't think Kinect will sell that much to people who have the Wii, Nintendo has pretty much stolen that market. The problem with you and me is that I'm seeing what Kinect is right now and might be later, while you're pretty much ignoring Kinect's lineup, and only looking towards the future.

The Move not only appeals to casuals, but also enhances the gameplay for hardcore users, as you can see with Socom 4. Because of the Move being much more accurate, I'm sure we'll be able to see better casual and hardcore games that the Wii should have, could have, but didn't pull off due to its hardware.

Sony PS3 for the win!!!

I will buy Kinect regardless.

Doesn't quite matter if they get Wii numbers. I'm expecting the Kinect to be a big success and that could lead to great sales for Dance Central. The Move is in a worse position because its likely not to sell as well and that's less potential to sell Move software.

The problem with you and me is that I'm seeing what Kinect is right now and might be later, while you're pretty much ignoring Kinect's lineup, and only looking towards the future.

No, your problem is you're bias and don't understand many people are interested in the Kinect's current line up. I look forward to what they have coming now and in the future. You're just waiting for games that appeal to a core gamer.

The Kinect will have mass appeal to casual gamers and it'll definitely attract core users simply because its unique technology. The Kinect isn't gettting tons of attention because of politics, people are geniunely interested it full body motion tracking.

Casual gamers aren't going crazy about the Move because its too similar to something they have already experienced, the Wiimote. The PS3 isn't known for its casual userbase and I doubt the Move will attract them. I doubt Core gamers want to buy all that hardware just so they can "enchance" games they already enjoy with a joystick.

I don't see GT5 on the list. Maybe this is not confirmed yet

Not that I really care to play GT5 with Move.
