Tony Hawk's Soundtracks (atleast the first few) were good, though I heard the tracks already, whereas I didn't here the other ones in FF, and I didn't here the songs in wipeout HD Fury, minus aphex twin. So the soundtracks seemed more exclusive to the game. whereas Tony Hawk Seemed like a random collection of good songs I'd put into a skating game. Different effect for me atleast

Makes sense. I don't think I'd nominate it as best game soundtrack ever either, even if I really like many of the tracks.

for single theme song i'd have to say Legend of Zelda. For complete soundtrack of a game i'll say World of Warcraft though. It has HOURS of great and atmospheric music. too bad most mmo players don't even play with music enabled! they are really missing out!

oooh, and i forgot: secret of monkey island! tie with LoZ maybe ;)

I love that the first mentioned in this thread is Secret of Mana!

That would be up there in my favorites as well:

Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, Baten Kaitos, Eternal Sonata

I also really like the music from the Sonic games for Genesis, from Castlevania's, and from the Zelda games.
