Forums - Gaming - PlayStation Move vs. Microsoft Kinect

@Dane007

Well, we ain't in much disagreement.

Thanks for pointing out that the you may need more than 1 Sony Eye to use the PS Move for 4 players. I hadn't thought of that.

Thanks for the link on Kinect. If you read too much here, the Sony fanbois will have you thinking that Kinect is 2 player only.

How would you even use two wands and a nunchuck at once? Do you have three arms? And if you want to play 4 player on the Wii, you need four Wii-motes and nunchuck's, making it a lot more expensive either way.

PS: Don't get me wrong here, I think both Move and Kinect will fail rather hard and I have no intention of buying either.

Personally i thought the writer sounded like a hardcore gamer and was pretty much just saying for hardcore gamers get Move etc..

The bit with the Games section is what gave it away. I am sorry but if your going to do a fair comparison between games then you have to do it from a neutrual point of view. You can't go into it saying well i prefer hardcore games then list none. Or say "Move PROMISES" to have better games....How do you know that? By that logic can Kinect not also have potential for decent games too? And then the next bit grates me is that he is implying that only games on Move appeal to him so thus it is better. That is his opinion and he is entitled to it. But has he not realised that the biggest selling games this gen are on Wii and most of them are party style games or fun games. Not fps games?

Then the bit about the price contradicts the amount of players thing. To get 4 people to play a move game you need 4 controllers....That is a lot of money. Where as with Kinect you only need one sensor. How he gets the thing is a draw off of that is beyond me.

Actually you are wrong.  On Amazon a wii nunchuk bundle cost 38 US dollar therefore 4 of them will cost slightly more than 1 move bundle . If you had 4 motion plus to it the price is still less then 4 move bundle lol.

Actually, I live in Norway and if I buy things at Amazon.com I have to pay VAT's, tolls and extra taxes, effectively making all products at least twice as costly and the domestic hardware prices are already at that level.

So, no, I'm not wrong, I just live in a different area of the world. Also, why are you assuming that you can't buy a Move controller without the bundle? You won't have to purchase the 99$ Move bundle with a game for every controller you know, I think you're just making it sound worse than it is for some reason. The standalone controller will likely cost somewhere around 50$ or so.

@Mummelmann

The reason why i said you need to buy the bundle was in my link on page 6. Anyways sony has confirmed that one eye toy camera can only register one wand and one nunchuk or two wands . That means that if you were to play 2 players and above , you will need an additional camera and controllers right. From what i can see so far the bundle is the only way of getting them both at one go .  Here is the link for ya
